I purchased this combo. The quality is so so. The paint/applied decals are OK. They sent me a dented calf block and the foot plates are extremely slippery. I had to apply nonslip tape otherwise it was too dangerous without it. They also raised the price by $300, which I can't see why with the quality. In addition, I inquired about purchasing an extra set of rollers and they would not sell them to me. Lastly, I tried to write my review online on their site and they never posted it. Probably because it was not 5 stars....

I appreciate the comment. On the review- they’ve always been very open to feedback in my experience with them, so I don’t know why they wouldn’t publish your review.

I wish you guys would talk more about the effectiveness on the quads of each machine and less about specs and all the other mumbo jumbo. I really want a comparison between the leg sled and the belt squat. If you could only get one which would build the legs better.

@@StevieRichardsFitness I love it! I just have one complaint, the hack squat! You can't get a full squat out of it. I'm 5'10 and the stopper is just to high, even when you take off the rubber bumper. I've seen somewhere that somebody cut off the metal and that made a whole difference in range. I might do the same, I just need to get somebody to do it but other than that it is amazing! It is massive.. lol. It is sturdy and smooth. The instructions I wished was more in detail in assembly when it comes to steps to take but I figured it out. It comes in a million pieces and it took some time to put together but if I had help it would off cut my time at least half.

I have been debating for months now. I think I am going to go with a leg press over a vertical. Vertical I believe is bit better overall, but a lot of these home types just don't seem safe. Way too many videos of them wobbling even with just 300-400 pounds. The gym quality ones are uber expensive. I think what is lost in lot of these discussions is what is safer and far less likely for you to get injured.

Great points. Thank you for posting this comment. The Force USA G3 is the only all in one trainer that has safety bars for heavier vertical leg presses. However, it still doesn’t have the features of a standalone piece of equipment. If you do decide to purchase either of the leg presses from Force USA, please use my link: www.forceusa.com/stevie

No laugh but how does this compare to the Chuck Norris total gym fit where you can use it as a leg press and add weights to it?? I’m asking to make an informed decision. Thanks a lot for any respectable comments

No need to worry about that with me. The Total Gym has been a device that has intrigued me over the years and I do plan on getting one for review. There’s many people who swear by it. The one thing I have noticed is that the pricing seems to be a bit inflated over the years. Of course, it takes up less space and easier to assemble than one of these all in one trainers. Go see where they have a Total Gym on display and try it out. That’s the only way you’ll really know.

It makes sense you could lift more with a leg press, are you not lifting your body weight as with using the compact leg press. As well it seems you will be using different muscles to lift with the compact leg press so it seems like an overall better options
@StevieRichardsFitness

It can be a better option for some, especially with the much smaller footprint. I will say that people with lower back issues may feel discomfort on the compact leg press due to the distribution/angle of the load.

If you could only have one leg machine, would you choose the leverage squat or hack/leg press combo and why?
@StevieRichardsFitness
3 жыл бұрын
Hey Paul, I’d choose the combo. To be able to have a full 45 degree leg press and a hack squat in one machine is awesome. It beats the compact leg press on value for the amount of exercises you can do with full range of motion. The only negative is the footprint for those, like me, with limited space. None the above. Belt squat and vertical leg press You can get a belt squat machine, or build a platform and do it in a cable machine. A vertical leg press is cheap, reliable and is 100% the load unlike roller angle machines

@@dylano7242 Agree, I was about to buy the compact leg sled until I realized I'd also have to buy $1,000 worth of weight plates. Instead I built a wooden platform with pulleys that allows me belt squat both stacks of my functional trainer

Rollers are the big problem with these home gym machines. Powertec had huge roller problems with their early versions. These are not commercial gym quality machines even though cost +$1000. Many people use exercise bands rather than heavier weights on these to save the rollers from heavy weight degradation. If need a small foot print leg machine and need something cheap look into a vertical leg press. New are cheap and used super cheap. I got a body smith vertical leg press only $100 that is commercial gym quality.
