I'm neurodivergent, and don't do autopilot, but my wife is neurodivergent, and does have autopilot. There are no symptoms all neurodivergent people have in common. All it means is your brain is built different from most people's. It can be different in millions of different ways.

You mean they get to just hit enter on .exe and be done with it? Sounds peaceful.

Cerebellum is more about fine motor control, specifically coordination, precision, timing and in real time adjustments of movements based on stimuli Habits are in very different areas (e.g., nucleus accumbens, corpus striatum) while planning is managed by the frontal lobes

100%. "Autistic" is a great excuse for ineptitude

Only women get away with living life in this mode. Men just don't have this option, you can't stand there trying to remember the process for averting a nuclear meltdown in a reactor, or how to seal a leak in deep sea drilling vein, you need to get in there and DO it before a disaster

Note- not everyone has that type of job. Not even men. I'd do it. I'm great in high stress and/or unpredictable situations. But day to day tasks kill me.

When driving, I couldn't tell you street or direction, But if we had been there before, I used to tell my ex, just trust in my cerebellum and we will just get there.

Easy way to put it is like this: You tell a robot to press 1, then tell them to do it again, then again, then again until you've asked them one thousand times. You get a thousand 1s. Vs You tell a robot to press 1 a thousand times with a single command that you repeat maybe a few times before they get it. Both ways get you the same result. Just that one needed the instructions over and over but the other one needed the instructor to think about it less. Now apply this same logic to everyday life. You're the instructor and your body is the robot. Waking up, brushing your teeth, maybe you eat something, going to class/work. Some people think about doing these things as they're doing them. Others do them without even thinking about it and their minds focus on other things.

@@asahi7407 I can't tell if it's a nice gesture or if you meant to be insulting by thinking you had to explain this to me. I meant I'm with her in that I have to actually think about it while I'm doing it. I can't think about the next thing until I'm done with the one thing. Even though I know in my head what the next thing is. But if I think about the next thing while I'm doing the one thing I will forget to finish the one thing. So I must concentrate on what I'm doing in the moment before moving on. And while I know I can multitask at a lot of different things at a lot of different times, at none of the things I'm doing am I completely mindless of it. I don't understand people that are unaware enough to the point where they put things like then gay on their toothbrush. How is anyone that unaware of what they're doing right now? That is what I don't get.
