You forgot to mention the vast resources and services that run in the background that require RAM to run your OS. Mac OS in particular requires 4Gb of RAM unlike the average 800Mb for a Linux distro which is why they run so well on older hardware. I am running Manjaro KDE on my C2D 14 yr old Sony Vaio and Salient OS on my 4th gen i5 tower. Excellent vid by the way.

Great video. Linux is by far the easiest and fastest system, although requires a bit of a learning curve at first. I've been using Photoshop since the 90s as well as other Adobe apps. I switched to Linux a couple years ago and have never looked back. Getting used to alternatives such as Gimp and Krita wasn't pretty at first, but now I can't stand Photoshop. There is just so much more you can do once you install a couple scripts and plugins. Not to mention how you can set up your workflow exactly the way you like it on Linux. I also used Dreamweaver a lot. But Bluefish blows it out of the water in my opinion. I also recently found a video editor for Linux called Cinelerra GG Infinity. Can't believe it's free. And here I've been throwing money at Adobe for years.

You can try kdenlive for video editing (I haven't done any editing in a while so I'm not sure how good it is, but I know many youtubers who use it and have quite hq videos). By the way since you're already paying for Adobe creative... you might wanna try to work those with wine (it's often shit but I was able to make photoshop CS6 work a whiile ago) And for my fellow Android users :) To minimize the "friction" between Android and other OSs the best way I found is KDE Connect; it doesn't work flawless on my Windows laptop but on my Linux one (kubuntu) it's simply amazing; I'm not sure how good it'll work on Mac OS but since it's based on unix I'm guessing the integration would be good.

@@t3security hmm, I haven't used VMs that much but I think that's a possibility if your system is powerful enough

And btw, you mentioned phone integration with Linux. There are a couple apps for that. KDE Connect is a pretty good one that works with Android at least. Not sure about iphone though. But if all you need is file transfer, check out Feem. Also, there are many good video editors for Linux. I mentioned CInelerra GG Infinity, but Olive is also pretty good, Lightworks is okay too but a bit pricey.

Thank you! Recap: MacOS is more secure than Windows MacOS has more flexibility with UI compared to Windows MacOS has better integration with popular tools compared to Windows MacOS has a premium price compared to Windows (But is price really that big of a difference?) MacOS is on your desired OS to purchase Windows is a better platform for high end gamers Windows is more frustrating to work with Windows probably collects more information on the user (We don't know what Apple really does) Windows still helps Bill Gates to corner the world vaccination distribution systems (OH.... you didn't talk about politics in this video) Linux is for the person who has the ability / know how to create an environment which suits the user. Linux is for the person who is willing to be ultimately responsible for their own Internet security, based on the settings they have chosen. Linux has ability to build a smaller kernel, so older / ancient machines can still be utilized (important for machines donated to Africa)

Yep! You know, despite this series I still didn’t truly, switch to Linux, primarily because of the Adobe apps... though lately, I’ve been doing tons more pentesting and am running parrot OS but with plans to build out my Arch Install again. (My install I did in this series got wiped somehow 😂)

I am planning to fully switch soon though... I’m just going to have to figure out if I can use Adobe on Linux somehow, or edit sufficiently in a VM, or relegate Windows to a smaller hard drive... my big issue and reason I’m wanting to switch again, is because of privacy, especially considering the government’s data collection etc. And also hacking tools work best on there
