I haven't tried the sinkshroom, but have used two different versions of the Tubshroom and massively reduced needing to unplug the tub drain! I had gotten the original Tubshroom from their Kickstarter launch.

I know this is an odd question but how does your hair get in the sink? Is it from washing your hair in the sink or just from regular styling. If it just from styling a mat works great because you just pick it up and wipe it off.

How she gets so much hair in her drain, I don't understand it either. I just pull the plunger closed when I'm not using my sink water. Doing so has saved multiple rings, earrings and cosmetic tools from going down the drain AND alot of stress time retrieving them.

I love the shroom! Works great for everything. Always hated the pull up drain system. The old type never provided a hair preventer. Plus, the shroom is great if something small falls into your sink

I've used a shroom in the tub for years and have never had to unclog the drain. Before that, I was cleaning the drain about every six months.

Thanks for the information on this. I live in a travel trailer and that would come in real handy with helping me keep mine clean.

I’ll use the shroom I reckon. I’m wondering if you know anything about any of those swirling hair collectors -(they’re supposed to swirl but none have ever swirled for me , lol ), -that go in the drain of the shower. I bought a flower shaped one that sits atop the drain hole, with long pieces of strings made of joined metal balls or chain, that hangs way down into the drain hole. The flower shaped bit on top was supposed to swirl with the water as the water goes past it down the drain , and the hair is then supposed to twirl around the long cord hanging down in the drain-pipe, and collect there. I bought a different shaped one also. Well, mine never twirl. Don’t catch hair on the twirling chain underneath-(because nothing’s twirlin ! ). Wondering if you folks had any success here. (The shower is the place the most hair goes down the drain, so its a worry.). I like the Shroom. I think it will work in my bathroom thank you for saving me wasting money and wasting the earth’s precious materials by me having to buy crap that doesn’t work and throwing it away

There's a comment above yours about the Tubshroom. Perhaps that would work in your shower. I use a removable drain cover in the shower but my hair is short so clogging is not and issue for me.

Perhaps the drain in your tub is to shallow to allow the hanging chain to swirl. The swirling chain hair catchers would have to be completely vertical with some room for movement in order to swirl.... just my guess.

I get the convenience of not having to disconnect the pull up drain, but I HATE the push button one I now have (by mistake because I didn't pay attention when purchasing) since when I do fill the sink, I have to put my hand in the water to unplug the drain. So annoying. I bypassed the shroom cuz' of the cost, but based on this might just reconsider. Thanks!

The push button stopper does have its downside. I have one in my guest bathroom. Time will tell whether I like it or not.

thank you so much for sharing your tips and tricks and building and creating...showing us how you did things so we can decide if we can do them ourselves is very much appreciated including this presentation. I changed my faucet but could not get the nut loose to attached the new drain plug and with this device, I do not need it. Everyday, I worried that something would fall down the open drain and now everyday I think of 'YOU' because I replaced that drain plug with this and you made me have confidence that I could do it and I love it! THANKS!!!!

Sitcom: 1959 sinks (original to the house)...can "sink schroom" be retrofitted to them? Just wondering because your sink is much more modern than ours. Thanks for including the demo of your sink/stopper/long hair. We have three "long hairs" here.😊❤

The sink shroom comes with different parts to make it fit different size sinks so it might.
