The Unna is far far better than the Soulo for condensation and packing and unpacking and with 10mm poles and practice you can make it more stable and easier to pitch than it appears here Twiggy if you peg out the two guy lines and the two end panel points on the same end ( INTO THE WIND) that prevents it from trying to fly away. The Soulo will always win and be more bombproof and a safer choice for summit camping and snow loading and high windy conditions but i just sold mine which was my 3rd Soulo only because i i prefer more space and tend to find it difficult to manoeuvre about inside when packing and unpacking on those days when its raining heavy and you want to be sealed inside. I just found that it takes more motivation to even get started in such a confined space where as with more space things are far easier and less mentally taxing. Trying to deflate and roll matts back up is a pain with little space to manoeuvre . I am down to the Unna and the Nammatj now in Hillys which serves my preferences better BUT my favourite tents are the Lightwave Sigmas S15 and S20 which i honestly believe are the best tents for most UK conditions and much lighter and cheaper too as well as being massively underrated . You never know until you try though 😉ATVB 👍

Agreed, definitely the Unna for me but the 10mm poles make all the difference. I really prefer the extra space 👍

Thanks for the tips Olan on pitching the unna in wind... I've not had it long so still learning... Its the reason I bought it, for the space on bad weather camping.. Definitely easier to organise things. I'm using the Soulo now just for severe weather but my goto tent is the unna... I'll look at getting some 10mm poles, then I might ditch the Soulo... See how things go... I heard sigma make good tents... I'll give it a Google. 👍

I totally agree with your comment. In the past I've used both the Soulo and the Akto. Nowadays I use the Unna. Nice to be able to get changed without having to contort myself, have ample headroom to use a Trekkerchair and be able to get in and out without burrowing a hole. I've upgraded to 10 mm poles and also carry a couple of extra guys that can be easily attached by lightweight karabiners. As you say pitching becomes easier with practice. In my opinion it's a very misunderstood and underrated tent. Absolutely love mine.

Another top video mate.👍 As long as a 'weather' tent can handle 50 mph gusts, then I'm happy with it. I mention the figure of 50mph, because those are the speeds that I could get caught out in. I wouldn't 'usually' plan to camp in those conditions.🙂
@twiggyescapes

Cheers Hengists 🙂... 50mph would definitely be long night with no sleep.. Survival conditions for defo... I had a rough night at 30 mph.. Cheers for watching. 👍

@@twiggyescapes Agreed mate. That's why I wouldn't normally choose to go out in such conditions, the bloody wind noise on the tent keeps you awake.🙂👍

Same here really, it's much more manageable because of the space, Soulo though definitely in high winds... Thanks for watching 👍

Great shoot, think soulo for morning colour, the red would annoy after a short while although possibly the better tent.

The red always looks weird when I'm filming... Its not that bad in reality... The unna defo better for the space,.. Not great in strong wind... Stable but flappy.

It was noticeably quieter in the Soulo but the unna does have the advantage of much more space. 👍

Interesting I'm thinking of getting the unna. Personally tho just about any tent will be fine in 30mph wind if pitched correctly i was in 30mph wind last night in the xmid and yes its a little noisy and some wobblesbut was fine.i will be adding 10mm poles to the unna I did that with my niak it makes a massive difference.
