Disclaimer: This video takes a deep dive at the strategies behind planning track picks in competitive matches. For those of you just enjoying yourself in worldwides or casual play, this video shouldn't effect you in really any way. Pick what you want!
That being said, the competitive playerbase... we need to talk. I know it's not all of you. But the lack of originality here is not only not helping you, it's actually making the game more boring. In a game with 96 courses, we shouldn't be spending over a third of all of our races on only 10 courses. Because any advantage you think you might have on those courses, might actually just be all in your head.
Our game needs to be vastly more explored than it is right now. It is hard for everyone to be a master at every track, but the more people tackle their own projects instead of just following the leader, the more varied it will be.
So to those of you who play in the lounge queue - I hope you hear me out, and potentially reconsider what it means for a track to be "good." Because I think a lot of our potential is being left on the board, currently. So hopefully this can start a discussion, that has the ability to change how we think about our strategies to begin with.
