In the end that’s what I wanted the most. The Eaton cars are great but that bump from the low 500’s to into the 600’s makes for a really fun street car

Congrats on the Whipple 2.3L, you did the right thing in my opinion. High 500s or low 600s on pump gas is a great set up for a street terminator. The Whipple will run really efficient at that power level. Can’t wait for the dyno video!

Aside from the monetary part of getting the eaton upgraded vs a whipple 2.3, with your power goals the eaton would need to be maxed out to get close to 500-550whp where the whipple will get you higher numbers than the eaton and more efficiently and not work so hard to do it. Both of my Terminators used the whipple 2.3 running comfortably in the 17-18psi boost range with ease and no major issues at all. My first Terminator had the returnless system with upgraded pumps & maf like yours and it ran just fine. Aside from their dependability, whipple 2.3L / 600+whp Terminators are a blast to drive too!

Agreed. The 2.3 was going to get me to where I really wanted to be power wise and 550-600 is not doable on the Eaton. I’ve been loving it so far. Can’t wait to show everyone the numbers next week

I’m in the same situation. Maybe I’ll do the ported Eaton instead. 500 to 550 horsepower to the wheels is really all I want. Just a fun and reliable Terminator is what I want. 600 to the wheels would be nice but I don’t want yo sacrifice too much.

Do a gen2r vmp. You will comfortably make 600 wheel on 93 and it will still be very enjoyable on the street and dependable. The Eaton is gonna be working hard in the mid 500 range whereas the gen2r will be chilling at 600. The 2.3 tvs works killer on terminators.

I have the 2.3 and it’s great but wish it whined like a eaton. I maybe be trading my sonic for a black and his is ported and just screams. I’m not needing 600hp like I have now cause my tires feel like they are half the size now lol.

Or you can try to trade your Whipple for a old KB 2.2L or 2.4L if you prioritize whine/scream, as well as 600 WHP on pump fas capabilities.
@sugarprobe

@@JROC734 I’d love a old KB even though they aren’t super efficient. But yeah that 500-600hp is plenty for my application. I also bought my sonic blue with a pretty fresh $25k build that’s ready for big power with support mods etc. while it’s a monster it is a little more aggressive experience that I am wanting especially for our road conditions here lol. Regardless it’s up for trade/sale in hopes of finding a more stockish set up.

If you want 580+ WHP on pump gas, and prioritize a lot of blower whine, the old 2.2L is where it's at. (the KB 2.4L's were also very loud, but had a somewhat different whine than the KB 2.2L) KB's tend to be less reliable than Whipples, or at least the old KB's tend to require the occasional rebuild, where the Whipples basically give you carefree service on par with an Eaton. KB is the original TS company for Ford products going back to the pushrod cars, and the old KB 2.3L (yes KB made a 2.3L before Whipple, at least for street vehicles. Pretty sure Whipple started as a company that made blowers for boats with inboard engines) blowers that you could get for the GEN2 Lightnings.
