So here's the deal. I am far from musically inclined but have been looking for an instrument simple enough for me to play, I have a uke and I'm getting along but want to try something new and stumbled on the banjolele. Go to KZitem and here's Eric playing one of my all-time favorites. Yep, I'm going for the banjolele and will spend as much time as possible learning to play Whiskey In the Jar even if only with 10% of Eric's skill.

+Danny Walsh Hey dude, yeah the banjo uke is just a ukulele with a banjo pot. I'm playing it in C so: C, Am, F, C, G for the verses and: G, C, F, C, G, C for the refrain. My strumming pattern is like: thumb on the 4 (topmost) string, up, down, up. I'm putting a little hammer-on after the thumb pluck in kinda alternating strums. It's easier to describe this stuff in person but that's the gist of it. Made this video on a lark five years ago and I wish I'd explained it better then!

Hey! I'm a beginner but I think i kind of found a piece for the tab for the very intro: A:----3-2-0----------------3------3-------- E:----------------1-0-1---------------------- C:-0------------------------------------------- G:-------------0----------0-----0-------0--- That's all, correct me if you think it's wrong, and feel free to continue.

Nice version there😊 Tell me , does your banjuke also have a kind of a flange on both sides of the neck, you know where the side of the fingerboard meets the neck ?? It's almost like the fingerboard is too wide for the neck 🤔
@EricStetson
6 жыл бұрын
In this video I'm playing a handmade Waverly Street banjo uke. There's a few little quirky charms that come with that. I just looked at it closely and the fingerboard is a separate piece affixed to the neck, not 100% straight on there. It's for the best, I think.

@altocool88 What words are you talking about? The song "Whiskey in the Jar" dates from at least 1720 or possibly from the hanging of Patrick Fleming" in 1650. The historic song's exact origins and words are unknown but those words used in this video are pretty close to what folk singers have been using since at least 100 years before Tin Lizzy or Metallica ever hit a stage.
