Video directed by Melissa Kinski, Cherry Pie Pictures. Starring Erin Hill, Alanna O'Connor, Aine O'Connor, and MacLeod the Westie!
Erin loves Christmas music, and was quite excited when Cleopatra Records asked her to do a Christmas album. When she decided on "White Christmas" to be the first music video from the album, it only made sense to have her west highland terrier dog MacLeod the Westie be a co-star!
The original idea was to have a little girl co-star in the video. Erin's friend and choreographer Mindy Cooper recommended the O'Connor's, Alanna and Aine were both so adorable, it was decided to have both sisters be in the video!
Erin collects aluminum Christmas trees from the 1960's, one of which you see in the video. The tree also appears in the cover art for Erin's "Christmas Harp" CD. Melissa Kinski, in addition to directing the video, did all the wonderful special effects to make the magical snow globe.
Pop harpist Erin Hill no longer has braces, but this video is a nice reminder to her how happy she is that she doesn't have to wear them anymore!
The video was shot at Erin's house in Forest Hills, Queens with its beautiful midcentury fireplace. They put up a greenscreen in the basement to shoot the snow scenes. And then they found snow all over the house for months!
Erin is playing one of her several Camac electric harps, called the Little Big Blue, except of course in ebony & gold, as opposed to blue.
The song "White Christmas" was written by Irving Berlin and released in 1942, sung most famously by Bing Crosby. It's always been one of Erin's favorite Christmas songs. It is Track 10 on her holiday album "Christmas Harp" which is available as a real live, physical CD on Amazon Prime.
