Hi Beukdeup, I love your videos-keep the awesome content coming! Great video, we all have something to learn from it. Here’s some feedback for you: Starting off, you had a solid early game. Let's zoom into a key moment at 17:30. Yellow only placed 5 troops on their cap, opting to deploy the remaining 12, probably in Hungary. This move hinted at a major threat to Blue, which seemed to slip by unnoticed. It looked like Yellow was prepping a big move against Blue. At around 17:40, Blue’s devil face emoji showed some tension. They then put all their troops on their capital or lined them up against Yellow in Poland, likely to defend their bonus. Unfortunately, this meant they missed securing a friendly card in Germany, severely limiting their options. The only choice left was your territory in Russia-a risky move given your strength. Fast forward to 22:45, Yellow had a golden opportunity to take out Blue and claim Blue’s 4 cards, who was clearly on the ropes, but they hesitated and didn’t consider your kill guard in Savastopol. This was your chance to reduce Yellow’s influence while boosting your own. The Lviv cap was weak with only 25 troops on it, and the overall strength of Yellow was extremely reduced. After you knocked Blue out and double traded your cards, the smart move would have been to go after Yellow’s Lviv capital, break all their bonuses, and protect your Eastern Bonus from Yellow with a stack in Poland or Hungary, especially since Yellow was down to just one card. Meanwhile, White was struggling, having just taken out the Red neutral bot, which cost them a lot of troops. White only held the North Africa bonus for a while and had just secured the West Africa bonus. You missed a chance to help Black by not leaving a card accessible in the Netherlands. Black had to pick between limited options, choosing Ruskeala for a card to avoid locking their capital. Even though you quickly defeated Black after that, a friendlier strategy might have made them an ally later. It was clear that Black could easily be blocked later in the game. At 32:40, White went all-in against you, which was the right move for them. At that point, you would have been better off controlling Lviv and Marseille without worrying about bonuses in Russia and Scandinavia. By not eliminating Yellow sooner, you found yourself in a tough 2 vs 1 situation. When you card blocked White, trading in Italy at 38:10 would have been wise to keep Yellow calm, who clearly wasn’t your buddy. Taking all of Italy was a mistake. It could have been better to signal to Yellow to trade cards there instead. Yellow didn’t fully grasp your moves or intentions, likely due to past aggressions, making them distrustful and combative. By 40:30, Yellow didn’t realize (or just didn’t care) that White was card blocked, but now knowing White could help Yellow, Yellow destroyed the card block you set up. Now it was evident this was a war you couldn’t sustain. White surely knew Yellow was the weaker opponent and had the winning strategy in mind. At 41:00, your strategy should have been to fortify your caps and prepare for the long haul. At 43:30, you thought White did not have much on their cap. I was sure White would have enough troops on the cap because White knew you were getting fewer than 20 and could not trade in. Having a cap which is sufficiently protected from your troop income would be adequate. Even if it were an empty cap, your goal should be to survive and protect your caps. Adding 15 more troops to your caps would be more important in this game situation. Take a card and hope that Yellow and White will start fighting against each other. By 44:30, losing your Lviv cap was a critical blow. At 45:40, opening Yellow’s caps was risky. The smarter play would have been to quietly gather cards in Spain, France, or Italy without exposing any capitals. Overall, this wasn’t a game for a quick win, and missing the chance to adjust your strategy for the long game was crucial. In a longer battle, White could have easily been blocked in Dinarides. There were several pivotal moments where a slight change in tactics could have dramatically shifted the game’s dynamics. It's a reminder for all of us-sometimes we miss out on opportunities, maybe because we’re distracted or just tired. Keep these pointers in mind for future games!

@@Beukdeup-vs3jp I've learned a lot from your video as well! I do make my own mistakes and always try to analyze what went wrong. Sometimes, I'm not fully focused on the game, which leads me to overlook potential opportunities. It's all part of the learning process.

@27 minute mark when you broke yellow to card block black, was the end of your game. You made and enemy for life out of yellow, while fighting black and white chillin taking cards striking you at the right time, showing yellow that he was teaming with him. You had no chance agaisnt two guys wanting to end you. Good game

gg WP Thought you played it well up to 38:00 when you had white blocked and then took italy , in that spot with 1 card and yellow on 3 i would of hit 1 territory in italy and stacked praying yellow was happy to sit there for a couple of trades

Yes, I completely agree. It's a hard balance asking for balance but risking that it looks like aggression to another player.

Hi Beukdeup, I wonder if you would not do better playing fixed caps instead of progressive. Your natural style of play to snowball and take continents quickly may serve you better playing fixed, where this kind of play is more rewarded and beneficial. For example you may have easily won this game if it had been fixed. I would be interested to see if you could achieve and sustain grandmaster rank on fixed caps?? I think you would!!!

I may give this some thought. Would you say to try that on Europe Advanced? I used to play classic fixed a bit, but the meta settings do make for fun games.

I think the biggest mistake you made in this game was not taking the Blue capital after Yellow failed the kill. You knew that Yellow only had 22 troops on it, and that he was on one card and could not retaliate. From there, it would be very easy to full send yellow and kill him once he got to 3 cards because he would only have 40 total troops. You are also the first to act after yellow, so there is almost no chance that Black or White steals the kill because they would have to kill him on 2 cards.

I 100% agree with this. I thought I was totally lost, but it does look like I missed some inaccuracies that allowed white to get too much momentum and then start working with yellow.

@17:00 What are the odds that Red has capped in Denmark? This would explain why Yellow hasn't taken over Germany. You're at war... White is taking single troop territories in Orient... and you're not using your Orient army to take the Balkans from Yellow. They can't defend it but you're allowing them to gain those 4 extra troops a turn. :/ *Shakes Head* White decide to progress the game by allying himself with Yellow. What were you trying to accomplish @35:40? You're in a 2v1 end game. You have no chance to card block White and Yellow simultaneously when you have the same number of troops as one of them. Congrats on card blocking White @39:00 But... Yellow isn't your friend. May I suggest you either break through their continents instead of recapturing continents you can't hold? @45:50 All caps have under 100 troops on them. So, every cap is weak. At least no stalemates, lol. That was a good attempt. What I would have done differently was... when White was weak in the early game was to attack him. You recognized the name. You knew they are a grandmaster... that made them the biggest threat in the game. As they were getting 8 troops per turn (without taking over West Africa) it was a good time to try to take their capital from them or card block them. Try to keep a good relationship with Black by giving him a territory in Germany to take... and Yellow might just attack Black for you. *Shrugs*

I kept hoping one player would see me making plays on the other and would try to sit back and allow the war to happen. It didn't turn out that way obviously though. I made the mistake of causing two enemies.

No, not in this one. They weren't colluding. (Unless I said yellow and meant white. That is totally possible. It is in my contract with KZitem that I mislabel my colors. That's why all of the Risk content creators do it).

Sometimes my hardware slows me down. I should upgrade to an actual mouse, but it's rare that I have to be super fast. So I just haven't bothered getting a mouse.
