LYRICS: As I approach to the grasslands, I see a golden light The moon never lies to a wicked eye For my serpent tongue can only taste the flesh of an only son Let my tainted blood flow through the parallels of our orphan veins No man could ever understand the depths of our brain Take a look at yourself, it’s inconsequential to stare into the eyes of a lost boy Don’t let the truth silence our voice We have the choice to push the boundaries of our own consciousness Can you not feel the vibrations Can you not feel the cold blood pumping into your blackened heart There’s a world beyond the surface of our minds Where absolute truth won’t vanish from our eyes Let the spirit divide our moral sense and pride And descend together, forever you are mine We are coming of age and the life that you live will turn years into days Haven’t you learned from what she became It spawned a demon that ripped an angel from its wings What is the purpose of living a lie When truth is revealed you’ll succumb to the eye’s madness Its power lives deep within us We can return to all that we have lost to this withered earth Underneath my shadow is a snake And it’s telling me that I should run far away But I know it’s voice will be echoing forever Lost boy, we are one in the same No matter how much you resist me, I’m with you We’re in this together, you’re mine forever We are connected We are the orphan sons I am the voice that guides you You’re mine forever

I heard the song on Sirius XM radio. This track is fast, technical, melodic and progressive! Phil is one of the best extreme metal vocalists on earth and this song is a proof. The diversity is incredible in this track. It has everything we love about Whitechapel fast vocals, grooves, tremolo picking and blast beats and aome additional elements like harmonic atmospheric guitars we only heard partially on Doom Woods and also a section of A Perfect Circle-esque clean vocals and I gotta say, the clean vocals fused well with their sound. Their sound is complete!

A lot of the guys that do this kinda stuff usually kill their voice, and either lose all their talent or are forced to go to clean only vocals. Phil's vocals seem to not be effected by his time spent growling and roaring into the mic at all, and further more, he's not bringing the clean vocals in out of necessity but rather cause they sound amazing. Looks to me like these guys are gonna be around for years to come! ALL HAIL WHITECHAPEL!

@@skullofironhold Nowadays, vocal technique has evolved so much that vocalists no longer damage or severely strain their vocal chords; however, you're right ... in fact many metal vocalists which have been around for years (which yelled and shouted at the top of their lungs for years) have completely destroyed their chords. I think Phil displays an amazing technique, and I highly doubt this voice is at risk :)

This is something special. I can’t believe you made me shed a tear at that solo, Whitechapel. The melodies...the impact, the voice, the whole entire song grows and internally moves me. Fucking bravo, lads. I could not be more excited for you.

I love this band’s progression and evolution throughout the years. At first, the brutality was the highlight and now it’s the quality of the composition. Great job, guys.

I think everyone saw this coming after The Valley, huge shift in my opinion but still carries that same depth in the background. Thanks for the release guys, can’t wait to see you play live!

And people really try to push the ignorant stereotype deathcore vocalists don't have talent.... look no further than this. Phil's cleans are immaculate on top of consistently punishing lows and highs. Incredible range

i gotta admit, after your s/t album, you guys changed sound and i wasnt feeling the nu-metal direction. but ever since the valley was released, you guys have been better than ever. i love the balance of brutality and melody on this song and others that you have released lately. you definitely added so many amazing layers to your music without giving up the heavy. love it!

WhiteChapel just keeps getting better. I love that they evolve from album to album. They never lose their sound, they add to it. Pumped for more!

I love the melodic chorus!!!! The guitar work is really shining on this song, love the dynamics going from a modern thrashy style riffing and drumming to a big chorus with big sounding chords and beautiful leads over it. LOVE THE DRUM TONES BTW!!!!!! 🤘🤘 "Kin" sounds promising. I would love it if the whole album had the same thrashy/beautiful chorus like this song
