This one time at fish camp I was sixteen and the sun didn’t set for weeks. I lived more in those few weeks than I did in many other years. So many good memories.

I hope you don't get a bunch of suckers on the next set. I remember when the trash fish would full our nets, sometimes big carp 15-30 pounds, but it was usually Gizzard Shad that would fill the nets, especially if it got windy and rough. It takes so long to take the trash fish out of the nets and it's on miserable, rough days. We caught some nice Striped Bass over 10 pounds but nothing big as good as those lake trout up there.

The net tugger is good, but I would cut the sides off it. That way the bigger fish wouldn’t get jammed between the wheel and sides

Your getting the cone nose whites ah? I live in an area where we get cone nose, round nose, shee fish, lesser Cisco, and one more I can't oh and bearing Ciscos too. We really love the round nose. You'd love it out here for white fish. On a good day checking your net twice a day you'd get maybe two tubs each check wish I can send some pics I got from this year's subsistence fishing.

Do you vary your directions that you put your nets in the lake? Like parallel to the prevailing wind or current? I imagine it is a crap shoot till you find that honey hole. Thanks for bringing us along for the day.
