This was a tough time for her and I read this was her first TV performance in a couple years and she was very nervous. supposedly cried in Sissy arms when she left the stage. Whitney just gave so much to a song One reaction video of her put it well. " she sings for the song" so true. so genuine. she doesn't sing to show her chops. She sings to make us feel what she is saying, tells the story. love her!

@1:21 - 1:24 was so touching to see all the white brothers and sisters truly admiring and honoring this great woman. Race didn’t matter when it came down to her. The world truly loved Whitney Houston and wanted to see her on-top. It was the undeniable beauty and uniqueness of her voice that set Whitney Houston apart from all others. She really set the bar high for female vocal performance. I wish this style of singing would resurface today and become the more predominant style again. The kids today aren’t really singing. Ella Mae, khelani, Ariana grande, tems, SZA, Jhene Aiko, summer walker, H.E.R. all decent artists, but they just don’t move my soul the way that Whitney Houston does. They don’t sing with conviction and heart like they did back in Houston’s day. Times may have changed but damn, since when did mediocrity become the absolute norm?

Actually the black community dissed her back in 88 or 89 at the BET awards. They claimed her second cd was not black enough. The black community in the USA really has a long way to go until they can finally get rid of that inferiority complex that makes race, and other not so important things vital to the US citizens . Yes, Whitney was loved by most but was also greatly disrespected by her own community.
