I swear her live performances make me wanna cry every single time. The thing that separates Whitney from everyone else is the tone of her voice. There are singers with more power, hit higher registry’s and more technical but they don’t sound like Whitney. She is the perfect combo of head, chest, bravado, power, registers, riffs, runs, belts and transitions I think this world will ever see. She is the voice for a reason. Such a stunning version of one of her classic songs. This is probably one of the best examples of how dynamic and soulful her voice was. The tonality and clarity is unlike anything I have heard when it comes to pop music. I am always amazed to see how see informs and directs the musicians from the stage, she was not just a gifted singer but she truly understood her craft. No wonder she became a template for so many singers who followed her, male and female.

well said!!! It was really about her phrasing, timing, control of tempo and musicians, as you say. Very unusual from , for the most part, a stand and sing musician. For me. she is the best.

This live rendition is high up there amongst my most favourite live performances by Whitney. The musical direction is insane. The band at the start of the last verse! Not to mention Whitney's vocal prowess gliding over the instrumentation. Underrated.

Whitney had a voice of 1000 angels. She sounded so beautiful and angelic. She's the only female artist that I will actually sit through and listen to the whole song and be nearly hypnotized into her voice and lyrics. It was her voice that wheeled us in, but then we started to love you more beyond the voice. God bless you Whitney!!!!

Vincent Williams We were mesmerised . It was the best night of my life and I was just a kid at 13 with my mate from school. I was to young to know about encores and we were about to leave. I said I was a bit disappointed that she didn’t sing my favourite song. At that moment the intro to I wanna dance with somebody started! She said from nowhere “do you wanna dance ?!” And the whole place went ballistic. Heaven was here on earth that night. She changed me forever RIP Whitney 🙏🏾
