The fact that Donyale was as big as she was in that time period before Naomi, Veronica, Tyra, and Beverly came around is so inspiring. Such a tragic beauty

Today is 9/14/23. I just watched the HBO documentary about Donyale Luna produced by her daughter, Dream. To me, Donyale (without those extreme blue contacts) was absolutely gorgeous. 💕💕 Im glad Dream was able to share her complete story.

I feel bad for the model who got cut by her own costume. The cut looked brutal. Donyale looked great at the end. She was a work of art in that metal sculpture.

it's a Satire about the fashion industry. The Couture clothes are more like "Art" and unwearable and some models work when the are sick.

The irony of Grayson Hall as Miss Maxwell who was modeled after Diana Vreeland, referring to Donyale Luna's character as magnificent when in reality Diana Vreeland (the racist heifer that she was) compared Donyale to King Kong after Richard Avedon explained how he wanted to use Luna in the Great Fur Caravan shoot they did in Japan in 1966

Yes … men encasing women in unbearable fashion/clothes that restrict their movements and cuts them if they dare try to escape … And the women who support it. A fitting allegory of Luna’s life.

Do you know what the Purpose was / is for Metallic clothing? He didn’t do it just to waste metal. His Vision was to hold the world accountable. But you can see past your own thoughts. Once you open your eyes and mind to put in consideration of Humanity, your ideas and actions change.
