If they miss on the year they should get their turn skipped. They still get to pick a full roster of course, but it stops people from knocking off good players from the board with no penalty. Why do you guys hate on pure GAS?!? And nobody picked up maddux?!? There were 4 100+ braves pitchers in 95 guys!
@chaosof99
2 ай бұрын
I am watching these later on here, but this comment was interesting to me as I was also expecting Maddux to be named and dove into the numbers a bit. 10 of the 15 starting Pitchers they chose had career years in strikeouts higher than Maddux, and Senga is only 2 strikeouts off (all numbers restricted to their time with an NL East team). Maddux was more of a pitcher that prevents walks, hits and homers, but not necessarily someone that strikes people out. He has some good years for strikeouts, but during his time with Atlanta he only avaraged 166 SO per year. By the constraints of this game there are just better options on the board, including two players they didn't choose in Fernandez and Wheeler as shown in the "best possible rotation" at the end, and I am sure there are others that were left off the board as well e.g. Charlie Morton in 2021 had 216 Strikeouts. Maddux (1998) - 204 Joez: Alcantara (2022) - 207 DeGrom (2018) - 269 Strasburg (2014) - 242 Hamels (2012) - 216 Glavine (1991) - 192 Shelfy: Beckett (2005) - 166 Strider (2023) - 281 Nola (2022) - 235 Senga (2023) - 202 Corbin (2019) - 238 Jolly: Scherzer (2018) - 300 Halladay (2011) - 220 Dickey (2012) - 230 Willis (2005) - 170 Fried (2019) - 173 Best Possibles not named: Fernandez (2016) - 253 Wheeler (2021) - 247
