The Knicks have the Pacers on the ropes and the Nuggets have the Timberwolves on the ropes. Considering injuries to key rotation players, I'm surprised by the Knicks performance. Before their series began, I had picked the Pacers to win it. I'm glad about how things are turning out. I'm not surprised about Nuggets performance. They're a veteran championship team and that have advantages. It's not over until its over but I don't believe the Timberwolves or the Pacers are going to win the next two games, respectively, to advance to their conference finals.

The main role that new head coach Jordi Fernandez will provide is stability. There's a good reason that terms of his contract wasn't disclosed. That should tell fans that the management isn't committed to him long term. Not committing to head coaches has become a pattern with the Nets considering how many have been hired and fired over the past several years. Taking into consideration that Tsai will be paying millions of dollars to Jacque Vaughn, for the next three years, he certainly don't want to add years of a Jordi long term contract when he fire him after next season. I believe Jordi will be fired after next season and so do the Nets management because it will take a miracle for a new rookie head coach to turn the fortunes around for a franchise that's as dysfunctional as the Nets. All of the optimism that Nets fans could muster isn't going to turn the team around. Next season will be the mother of all of growing pains. I expect we're be just as bad, in the win/loos column, as this season if not worst. Of course, I hope Jordi could perform a miracle. Being realistic, I don't believe he will.
