As usual this isn’t an official rank, analysis or competition. It’s simply me zooming in on moves I appreciate and tying to notice cool new things in the dance. I’m going to write my observations about it but it’s just my opinion.
Overall I love this dance. It’s really creative and cool and very exhausting. Props to the members for all doing it so well. They really show their style here.
The distribution of time I spent focused on each person is approx as follows. I am quite surprised with the result. I guess Everglow are very closely matched in dancing and simply vary by performance and choreo as this is very different from my Dun Dun result. But it also shows that these vids aren’t solid proof. Just for fun!
Aisha 46s
Sihyeon 45s
Mia 38s
Onda 29s
E:U 20s
Yiren 20s
Here are my general observations about each member.
Aisha
She really caught my attention in this dance. She’s strong, cool, and sexy. Aisha brings it full out but often misses a bit of accuracy and will cut details out of moves. However she strikes great poses and even transitions rather well so she excels at the slower moves. This means one best move for her might be many seconds long, hence her high position. In my Dun Dun video, many said it meant Aisha was the worst dancer in Everglow, clearly this is not true. I am shocked she is in 1st as she didn’t even get a move until a ways into the video but she really just went all out the whole time!
Sihyeon
She owns this era. Since she excels in these sharp and graceful dances, La Di Da lets her shine. She is very clean and hits every move with sharp precision. Sometimes she struggles to find a good position in the faster moves, stumbling a bit, or missing moments to add a little extra but she’s clearly quite capable. Her skills in the tutting and voguing bring her past the main dancers of the group for this performance it seems!
Mia
Very bold and sharp but still getting everything correct. She has a good sense of how to move in a way that emphasizes the music perfectly. She’s the most likely to be in the perfect position from head to toe to a degree of which I haven’t seen many dancers I’ve done this series with yet. I do think, despite doing the moves themselves well, she lacks a bit of poise overall. I think the only reason she isn’t higher is because her best moments are more fleeting but she’s pretty much always top 3 for these moves.
Onda
In a technical sense she’s clearly quite capable. She holds the dance together well, being a consistent and sturdy piece throughout. I noticed the one place she’s consistently awkward is in her leg movements including her balance in this dance while she excels in head and chest movements.
E:U
Great sense of body and clearly very capable. Her and Mia dance similarly in this, often excelling at the same moves and fading away in the same ones too. She underdances a bit here which sometimes is a good choice but other times feels lackluster. It may be she’s just not feeling so good bc usually she does go the extra bit. Her timing is good and she rarely looks awkward though unlike Onda or Aisha sometimes do.
Yiren
Lol my bias is Yiren but she simply didn’t stand out in this choreo the way I feel she did in Dun Dun. Nothing was particularly wrong but she misses those extra details, especially in the chorus, particularly the times to look really poised and get the right arm angles and heights which are important in this choreo. She is quite direct and definitely feels the power of the music. I think she seems to get her groove more as the dance goes on and starts to really throw herself into the moves.
