I've visited every U.S. President's gravesite - except for George HW Bush and Ronald Reagan. I plan on visiting Bush's gravesite this fall. I've though about visiting all of the Vice President's grave; it is nice to see my passion for visiting the final resting place of Presidents and Vice Presidents is shared by others.

My favorite president! Theodore Roosevelt was a true polymath. Not only was he a great statesman, he was also was a prolific author, historian, sportsman, soldier, environmentalist...the list goes on. Theodore Roosevelt is one of the rare Presidents admired by people all across the political spectrum. He put America on the map as a major world power, and, was the first to seriously tackle economic issues of monopolies and trusts. The way he got to be President is largely by happenstance. McKinley's first term VP, Garrett Hobart, died in office and therefore there needed to be a replacement candidate for the second term. Roosevelt was selected to get him out New York politics and into a dead end job. Well, Leon Czolgosz made Roosevelt President. I wish TR were alive and in the White House today.

He was definitely one of the greats. Sadly, politics have changed so much that it’s not possible for any president, of either party, to be great any longer.

for some reason, Theodor Roosevelt is the most popular US president for Europeans folks of course its because of the teddy bear. it's because of the German-based Steiff company that made the teddy bear from 1903 this long-nosed straw-stuffed humpback bear is far from what we now call a teddy and a blue or purple one of these is now worth millions. I have a 1904 window display red Steiff teddy bear in my museum collection it's as large as me! filled with straw it's immensely heavy at 40 lbs its a heavy dude! I say straw but it is more like wood strips straw has no being here it's wood strips all the way!
