In Quran it's clear, God doesn't love just everyone like what Christianity suggest. It is stated very clear example God doesn't love criminals and such. @@stephenatkins13 Hey great question! I can understand where you're coming from. Here's a brief explanation which I hope helps... it basically has to do with knowing and understanding God's attributes. For example, God is not bound by time like His creation is - there is no such thing as time for God i.e. no past, present or future. Hence, using the term "before" when referring to God would not be correct. We as human beings and creation exist on a timeline, but God doesn't. So His attribute of love/mercy/etc. was and has always been manifest. Secondly, God is completely and entirely independent. Neither He is nor are any of His Divine Attributes dependent on anything or anyone. So to say that God's love is dependent or necessitates an object of that love would would go against His attribute of absolute independence. So in short, it's important to understand God's Attributes and when speaking about Him, we shouldn't compare him in way shape or form to humans or to any of His creation. The Creator is completely and entirely beyond creation and is incomparable to it. Hope that makes sense :)

Interesting topic. We can say God is love since all attributes (mercy, justice, love, compassion etc) stem from the nature of this being in religion. Its interesting to note that the quran often says god does not love the wrongdoers stuff like that but it doesnt say god hates the wrongdoers. This suggests more of a distancing from a person but that god is always willing and wanting to love ppl even psychopaths who change. Furthermore verses which list types of ppl god loves throws the whole notion of religious exclusivism out the picture.

@@syedqadri1348 Thats a fair point. I looked up the arabic word in 40:10 which is maqt. I also noticed that the word sh'aanu is also used for hatred(5:2, 5:8). Maqt is used mostly when referring to god and sh'aanu used to refer to peoples hatred towards people. Does this show that gods hatred is not the same as human hatred ? Is it also possible those verses on hatred are only used towards a target group or context ? But if we think about it. Hatred is done for 2 reasons. 1 When someone has done some wrong or u perceive injustice/crime/harm. 2 When someone wants to be spiteful or intrinsically evil. If god has hate does it mean he wants to be spiteful, sadistic and madly torture and spite people. Even if the people are very evil shouldnt he want to punish according to justice ? I dont see how a god can be so hateful that he wants to cause suffering and be spiteful. Further why are so many verses of god does not love so and so. Should it not say Verily God hates so and so. (I actually heard Shabir Ally mention this in his old debate with William Craig on the god of quran vs god of bible) Unless its just some language thing to be poetic with the verses of god loves so and so, god does not love so and so..

What is love? A warm fuzzy feeling you get inside or something you do? Gods love for mankind as demonstrated on the cross means Christians are not condemned - man cannot elevate himself out of his nature - he his hardwired to make choices (or given the freedom by God to chose - man is not like an animal who live instinctively) therefore we have a sinful nature because we can chose - man is inherently sinful. And Gods Grace - (an unwarranted gift to mankind) is the supreme, highest level of love that the Islamic model of love fails to deliver as at its best is comparable to the love than mankind himself demonstrates as talked about by Jesus is Matthew Chapter 5 Verse 43-45.

The unborn child will enter paradise as s/he is in a state of innocence. This goes for anyone with a mental disorder or a disability that leaves one unable to recognise God in its natural concept (Concept of Allah is in the 112th Chapter of the Quran). This also includes any child who has died before puberty. They will also be given a chance to argue their case when entering paradise by saying ‘I was not able to spend life with my parents, now am I going to spend eternity without them?!’ If the Most Merciful pleases, He will wipe away the sins of the parents and allow them to enter paradise. So they also become a means to enter paradise for the parents who suffered a great loss whilst on Earth. In any case, Allah knows best

If the God is distressed, he could at any time move to better persuasion methods.... Appearing personally to people, sending a new messenger.... In this internet age you would not even need to send multiple messengers..... Just sending a supernatural being such as Buraq, in a CCTV monitored area would do :-D Another approach could be to let those people who do not follow the path, have multiple lives in this Earth.... Until they make themselves fit for heaven.... This would then be similar to Buddhism and Hinduism.... Another problem with God getting distressed is that, many people(like me), do not remember any God giving us any path.... I can understand what you mean for sure. This really is a difficult problem which i dont think can ever be solved no matter what solutions are given be it soul growth, free will, greater good etc. We can only hope the afterlife (if there is one) is able to fix these issues of injustice such that it appears as a bad joke we can laugh at. To repair something as if it never broke in the first place. This seems like an impossibility to be honest.

His words would hold more weight if he wouldn't use the word 'god' but Allah to spread Islam
