Im a motorcycle tech and we were taught to always pre lube the filter. On a car engine with lose tolerance its not really a big deal, but when you start getting into tight tolerance on lets say a sport bike its just a good habit. It doesnt take any extra time for peace of mind.

Some new cars are using 0W-8 talk about tight clearance 😊. Thank you for sharing that, I actually did not know that

The other question would be where are you supposed to pre fill it from?

Alot of people put it In dry and I've always thought that 2 to 4 seconds your engine runs without oil cannot be good in the long run. Could be a myth

Put some oil on your finger and run it around the gasket too! This will give it a better seal and help prevent it from drying out and leaking! Great to see you using FULL SYNTHETIC oil NOT dinosaur oil!! Your engine can go 3 times longer between oil changes and last for 200,000 or 300,000 miles!

I usually do 6500 miles between oil changes. 5,000 on my Avalanche since I fell into the whole 10k mile oil change and ruined my engine. Extra 250.00 in the life of the car is better than the 4800.00 im going to have to dish out to get my engine redone. I knew about the oil around the seal but thank you for the advice. What brand oil do you use?

Are you dinosaur oil and my 95 jeep grand Cherokee is running great better than most and I beat the shit out of it but I do oil changes 2500 to 3000 miles. Fuck that new shit especially if you drive an older vehicle it will just piss out everywhere.

@@kick1574 LOL.... bro that generation jeep will run forever.with or without oil. Best years made. The more you replace the oil the better I suppose. You know in the 60s car manuals said every 6500 miles. We only had dinosaur juice back then
