Who knew? I knew. I _love_ that goofy shit. You know what else I love? Competitive juggling. Tag & Hide & Seek tournaments. Professional Putt-Putt. The juggling is the most impressive. Seriously. These people have to train somewhere, somewhere with either high or no ceiling, so you'd think outside right? Except I have lived all over this country and traveled and was very much out & about, but never once have I seen someone out in the park with 7 bowling pins up, just doing their thing. There was a performer at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore who juggled chainsaws, he had an impressive show. His son was working with him too. But that's not what I'm talking about. Where are you, champion jugglers?

I'll bet you love those events, and I never knew there was professional putt putt, but I'm pretty darn good at it. Don't know her beef with posting video of young preteens and teen women having fun and her face says it all....she hates it.

Honestly, I kinda love it. Maybe a bit cringe, but anything to get people moving is a good thing. The more ways we have to move your body without hurting other people, the better. And it's not like it's a finance restricted sport, like owning actual horses and competing with them is. Honestly, this is an example of "Let people have their fun, they're hurting no one".

Although a bit weird, it is impressive to jump that high, keeps people physically active, and is much cheaper than buying a horse and taining it and feeding it and taking care of it so

Horses are fabulously expensive anywhere near population centers. I visit and volunteer with a historic bloodline organization. As an artsy-craftsy, customizing model horses for tabletop horse shows makes more sense.

Yeah, as much as i understand the internet's collective "point and laugh" around these people... I'm just like it looks like fun and it's getting people to stay active. Sometimes the point is to be silly. I want to see the people who make fun of these girls try to do one jump. Just one. No hobby horse or judges critiquing their form... could they actually do one jump? I doubt many could

One summer made a track in the forest when my parenst build our log cabin in the woods and i used to jump the highest that was up to my solar plexus standing by it. The rule was jump keeping your legs under you, one could not use hurdling technigue, or twist legs sideways, like these athletes are doing. (Also they are jumping higher than I was at my best) Some 20 years later I tried to jump one lower than my knee - with a stick horse (longer stick than these competition ones) and failed spectacularily. Without the stick horse I would have jumped that tiny thing backwards. It affects everything tremedously. Your hands are locked on it and cannot help with your balance and hobby horsers need to tilt the horse's head side ways and the end of the stick up while jumping that high and all of it is so difficult i would probably land flat on my face. And I have survived with real horses trying to seriously buck me off. :/

So I thought WTH, but it was started in Finland in 2017 as a way to get kids away from screens and maybe even outside but moving which is better for them that texting on the couch. The adults see it as whimsical sillyness not unlike our Maine traditions: Wife Carrying, Bed Races, Lobster Races and Iron Skillet tossing. Considering all things I think I get the humor and it's mostly 12-16 girls. Better this than Boy Riding at that age! 😂

Aaaah, that takes me back to my childhood in the '60s. My friends and I were all pony-mad but none of us had parents who could afford a pone, so we stuck ears onto our old-fashioned hockey sticks and rode them around our gardens. We had competitions too, but they were unofficial ones, just me and my friends. We stopped doing it by about age 7, but it was harmless fun, it was quiet and it did no harm to anyone. We got loads of exercise, loads of fresh air, and we slept like logs every night. Great times.

There is companies that already do that, and some are hobbyists or former hobby horsers themselves - so coming from outside you would have hard time breaking that longtime friendship.

so I read about $200-$600. That is cheap for a horse, as these don't eat! Plus the stable is a closet.
