Its a shame that they don't make those small/medium size pick-ups(S-10s, Sonomas, Frontiers)anymore. Hell, even the Ford Ranger is no longer a small basic truck like it used to be. We can blame the "Chicken Tax" for us not have those basic affordable mini-trucks anymore.

@@herbiehusker1889 I agree 100%. Plus IMO they load up all the new trucks with unnecessary useless tech & gadgets that do nothing but drive up the price by over $10,000. Nothing wrong if you want all that extra stuff & goodies, but I would buy a brand new basic small truck with no extras/frills. Manual windows, manual locks & a 5 speed transmission with a simple radio to listen to news & music. That would be my ideal new truck.

@@tomuchcrazyness9320 They're the size of the too-big Tacoma, and they're all way too expensive. Some of us just like basic, regular cab, long (or short) bed little pickups like the millions that were sold in the past. I'll prob keep my 2010 Ranger reg cab long bed 4.0 forever just for that reason.

Those Wranglers are a good buy. I had a set on a Cherokee and put about 45,000 miles on them and they are pretty quiet like you said. I think they are still only about $75-80 a tire at Walmart. I put one of those plug and play harnesses on it as well. I was an avionics mechanic in Army Aviation about 46 years ago and I can still cut and splice with the best of them but this is just too damn easy to even mess with it. I enjoy your videos too BTW.

My toyota has one of them. Its an 01 tacoma I installed that same harness in it when I installed my hitch. I was not going to use the bumper hitch cause the thing was in so bad shape it was not worth risking. But yeah I still don't understand why they did not do the wiring harness from the factory. I took a 7 pin adapter and hooked it up to mine so I could use it for the trailers with that setup its set so it can be removed. Don't feel left out I never knew about this set up till the store I bought the hitch told me they had wiring harnesses for them.

I didn't know about the plug & play lighting harness either but I guess it makes sense, seeing how they're available for stereos to allow you to fit an aftermarket unit without hacking up the wiring. In the UK we have a great big round 7-pin 'N' type plug and socket arrangement for lighting and often another one for caravan (travel trailer) electrics such as running the fridge and charging up the leisure battery. Those are fun to wire in especially on a Volvo 240 which measures voltage for its primitive bulb failure warning system. Despite their size those plugs are still troublesome as hell, especially when moisture gets in and causes poor connections. www.towingandtrailers.co.uk/shop/132/133/142/
