An Initial Public Offering (IPO) is a way for companies to raise money by issuing new shares to the general public and listing on a public stock exchange.
There are two main reasons for a company to IPO: 1) to raise funds; 2, for early shareholders to realise liquidity and sell their shares.
However the process to actually float or list on a stock market is no easy feat, and in today’s economic climate it is even more difficult.
In this video I talk about the players involved in making an IPO work, and what their roles and responsibilities are.
