Right before you said it, I was thinking, 'Hey, that looks like the Tryclyde fight from SMB2!' And actually, the second one you did looked a lot like the Mouser fight too. Can't be a coincidence, I would think. I have to think the failure to use a recyclable checkpoint and leaving it open to die after getting the key was simply an oversight - just not being familiar enough with that stuff to know about it. Because the rest of the level didn't seem like he was a trolly creator or anything.
@thaddeusgenhelm8979
6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I was noticing that the 2nd fight was very obviously the Mouser fight. The last one is very, very obviously the Wart fight too, with pipes with Pows rather than... Uh, Organ tubes? with vegetables. Not sure what they had to do with Kamek and Koopas though.
@Rocky2418
6 жыл бұрын
Ooh, good call! I'd looked at it briefly, but I didn't think of that. Yeah, definitely looks like the Wart fight. Just weird that the title made no reference to SMB2. Almost like they were subconsciously doing it.

Being as I suspect every boss is the recreation of the mechanics of a SMB2 boss (just not sure about the one in the 3rd pipe) and the fact that they made the really awkward mobile stacks and stuff, it feels super intentional... Alright, not knowing the German flag is kinda bad... I mean, it doesn't matter at all, but it's a general knowledge kinda thing. I don't give a shit, to be quite honest, but I'm pretty sure most people (from just about anywhere) could identify the German flag. There's a lot of flags I would have no clue about, but the German one is something that is just common knowledge, I thought. Most of us would know the UK flag, USA, maybe Australia (bias, since I am Australian), Japanese, maybe some others too. It's a matter of general knowledge for them. You don't need to be a geographer to know them. HOWEVER... It doesn't matter. Perhaps it gives off a sense of being ignorant, but I personally think that not everyone is brought up the same way and learns all of the same things, common knowledge or not. It's not fair to say one is dumb for not knowing a flag, which is not that important to know, really. In the end, I love ya, Ryu! You do great things and your content is what ACTUALLY matters, and it's just awesome. Much love.

Torilla tavataan" means "let's meet at the Market Square". The square is the location of big celebratory events, such as ice hockey world championship victories, and whenever Finland is mentioned outside its borders in any form, people use "torilla tavataan" sarcastically to make fun of the fact that the Finns are obsessed by international recognition and attention and "what do they think about us". Everybody makes hot garbage but when it comes to Japan, most is hot garbage and the same type too, hot garbage is divided into a few categories, spamming crap everywhere, troll levels with thwomps and many death doors, a poorly created level in general lacking checkpoints or terrible key coin set up, and then the kaizo, which in itself divides into smaller categories Japanese levels tend to always be the kaizo hot garbage, mostly the type where you run with a small timer using triple jumps over spikes and spin jumping on enemies in tight space, which are the most frequent level types, making expert impossible to pass unless you are a skilled player with as little lives killed as possible to memorise the level So yeah everyone makes hot garbo but Japanese make the most impossible garbo which is the same unoriginal crap, yeah they take ages to make and there is good level design but its seeing one after the other that makes it annoying as a whole, no originality, just precise timing and reaction time, losing lives in the same frustrating way

You say it's everyone's fault, however I remain unconvinced Ryu. I believe it is still Japan's fault that 100 challenge mode sucks. To prove this, you must create at least 9 more videos of these non-Japan Super Expert runs in this style to generate more data for a more informed decision. One round is not enough!
@mhelvens

Yes, the sample size is too small. But more importantly, we'd need a bunch of Japan-only runs. Then we can compare scores. Would they also have a 50/50 ratio? I expect not. But also realise that this would all be from an American perspective. I wouldn't be surprised if a Japanese player would score differently. Either way, Ryu probably doesn't want to be too divisive on his channel.

I think the kaizo community and all the Mario Gods out there are to blame for the garbage quality of the super expert level. I mean, if you do a replica of a stage from one of the official Nintendo games, it is quite unlikely to see it on Super Expert, even if you take it from The Lost Levels. My point is that a good level, with basic platforming and a loose timer can't find it's way into super expert. So what's left ? Kaizos tricks, trolls, and hot garbage. Oh, and I forgot puzzle levels.

Did anyone else notice that the first stage was a series of MARIO 2 boss fights recreated

Yeah, this one with the Wiggler (?) and the canon throwing POWs with the exit on the right was meant to be a Birdo boss room. And there was Mauser and Triclyde too.

Let's do a non-Japan run! *J-Bizzle's best approximation of a Japanese 60-second new supe speedrun* ...

There's Norway you can get through that obstacle without getting hit.

To be fair, Americans have little reason to learn them. It would be far more embarassing if he were European. We learn this stuff as little kids.

Most Americans can't even recognize past American flags correctly, much less those of other nattions

Why is there a need to learn flags when it is trivial and you can look it up?

biggest time save in the j-bizzle level is that you didn't even need the red coin at the beginning
@goldensun2787

But you needed a running start, so he put the coin there to tell ppl to go back for a running start

Golden Sun That's dumb. There are better ways to indicate running starts. Or just put a damn spring there.

Mario is obviously incredibly popular in Japan, and I'd be willing to wager the VAST majority of the the hot garbage New Sup levels are made by Japanese kids who grew up with the Wii and think their trolls and screen-filling enemy spam are clever.
