I am taken aback that racialism is still prevalent in Guyana. People minds are so clogged that up to this time they speak with such venom that they cannot appreciate our history. President Burnham is a man of integrity and intelligence, a family man that all can emulate. Continue to rest in peace, Guyana's pioneer who championed the cause of all of us.
@AranDarcyProject

@@marcelarcher-thomas1858 But of course he was! Highly respected throughout the Caribbean, educated and a master orator, but that does not change history. What we have in Guyana - had in Guyana under Burnham was not racism, it was a complete misunderstanding of our place in the larger plot of world politics. We were pawns in a game that we could not understand, and some were used to satisfy Burnham's lust for power. He was used to satisfy the needs of the western powers. He was not a racist, just an opportunist.

Interesting perspective! Everyone is entitled to their views. Burnham was a savior to those who loved him. Like every leader he was flawed. Only the Almighty could be his true judge. International pundits assess leaders with their own biases. Yet, those are the voices that dominate the world. Knowing these limitations are liberating to a person's soul.
