IT WASN'T WATERNOOSE'S PLAN, IT WAS RANDALL'S- I'm sorry, but this whole video is a mess of misunderstandings, I know he CAN'T HAVE SEEN THE MOVIE- It was Randall's idea, Randall's machine, Randall was the one who was gonna kidnap and kill the kids, it was Randall who almost KILLED the main characters multiple times, and it was Randall who convinced Waternoose on the idea. This is the villain equivalent of signing your name on someone else's work so the teacher gives you all the credit. Waternoose couldn't even banish Mike and Sully without feeling guilty about it. I can tell the vast majority of people in these comments haven't even watched the movie, or if they have, it's been years and they're going along with what he's saying because they don't remember the story. I love his videos, but his entire build up and conclusion is a mess and just straight up wrong. @@Dmobley9901 I admit I did forget that Randall created the plan, I have’t watched this movie in some time. That’s my bad. However, I feel like your’e putting all the blame on Randall, when Waternoose’s involvement is much more than just giving Randall the go ahead. He stood by ready to watch Boo be tortured and potentially killed in front of him. After he knew Sully and Mike found out, he lured them to the banishment door himself to get rid of them. And even after Randall was gone, he had every intention to continue the plan even if he had to do it himself. Waternoose’s motivations were definitely more out desperation than malice, and he did legitimately care about Sully and Mike. But he still was willing to kidnap children and was never going to let Boo go home, refusing to leave witnesses. “I’ll kindap a thousand children before I let this company die! And I’ll silence anyone who gets in my way!” Those are Waternoose’s words, not Randall’s. While he takes no pleasure in it, he still sees kidnapping, torturing and killing children as an acceptable plan for saving the company. That IS evil. More Neutral Evil than Chaotic Evil, but still evil.

@@Dmobley9901 I’m sorry about that, and I totally get your frustration. While I clearly didn’t rememeber that important detail, I did enjoy this movie a lot when I was younger. I feel most people remember Waternoose more than Randall as a villain is he’s confronted last in the movie, an event movies typically reserve for the big bad. And everyone remembers his famous quote during that last confrontation. Waternoose is a great character though. I like the fact that even though he’s a villain, he does evil things to protect his company rather than just being evil and sadistic. And he legitimately cares about Sully. Cool design too. Honestly I’d say while I enjoyed this short, ranking these villains by how evil they were when it’s “whose the best villain” was a big mistake. Should have been the overall quality of the character and how well they fit the antagonistic role. I feel like there's a brilliance in Hopper's simplicity. His perspective of being the only person to blame if things don't go well for his gang is belied by his belief that this responsiblity gives him ultimate power over the lives of those under them.

Thing is Syndrome was actually a prodigy. Sure he was young and inexperienced but he was extremely gifted for his age. Mr. Incredible should’ve mentored him at least while keeping him out of trouble. In the end Syndrome became a multimillionaire that successfully killed dozens of heroes.

Someone said before I'd where that syndrome did have a superpower, his intellect, but it wasn't as obvious to everyone in the movie Although his death says otherwise
@MysteriousTomJenkins
7 ай бұрын
Nah, Syndrome didn't deserve the time of day. Regardless of his intelligence he almost got himself and Mr. Incredible killed by trying to butt in. His actions unintentionally led to supers being outlawed because he allowed Bomb Voyage to place a bomb on his cape them flew around wildly while Mr. Incredible tried pulling it off, blowing up part of a train track, forcing Mr. Incredible to stop it which broke most of the passanger's necks resulting in mass lawsuits that got supers outlawed. That one night validated Mr. Incredible's decision to keep Syndrome as far away from super heroing as possible. Syndrome trying to be Mr. Incredible's side kick is like a kid who's really good at shooting guns because he hunts with his dad...trying to help a police officer out while he's in the middle of a gun fight with criminals. Who gives a shit how skilled he is when his lack of maturity and experience is going to get him and others harmed and killed?

Hopper was too good for how mediocre A Bugs Life is. The idea of a villain who’s aware he could be easily overthrown if he slips up in front of the people he rules over is a unique idea that the movie doesn’t push to its potential. As well as an idea I’ve almost never seen anywhere else.

Even as an adult Waternoose has such a vibe and charm that you couldn't see him as a villain until the twist. The movie has to skim the details but the implications behind Waternoose's plan was pure evil, imagine having your child stolen by literal monsters that harvest your child's screams till they die, and taking kids endlessly just to supply energy to their world.

Waternoose wasn't doing this for money. He was doing this because he was afraid of an energy crisis. It was established throughout the entire movie that there was a scream shortage due to it being more and more difficult to scare children. Without scream, they had no power. So when there was a possibility that his company might be shut down due to their inability to meet their quota, Waternoose became more desperate to keep his company alive and to prevent the monster from losing their power.
