Well, to break the secret, it actually turned into a triple, but I had already finished filming before I discovered the 3rd clutch. Hopefully, I'll post that next weekend while I'm at a show.

Very nice! Newb question: Why does the embryo need to be up? Also, I know some breeders don’t separate eggs. Are they just not concerned about embryos being up?

This is still debated in the industry. It has long been believed that if the embryo is down, it can result in the death of the developing baby. There are some that say it doesn't have to be. Most breeders, like myself, would rather not take the chance. Some don't want to separate the eggs because they believe it is best to let them develop the way they were laid. Or they don't want the risk of separation. There is a risk that you can tear the egg in separating them. Basically, it comes down to what a breeder is most comfortable with and which option they feel is less risky. I wasn't going to separate some of these eggs, but when the embryo was down or to the side I decided to separate. Thankfully, I've never had one tear. The eggs are pretty pliable and easier to separate the less time they've been out. This is a way. Not The way.

@@SeventhLevelReptiles awesome. Thanks for the info! I’m about 2 years out before I have to worry about it so it wasn’t really something I was thinking about until I saw this video.
