Sad to see the hurricane damage, although the harvester did a good job picking it up. Suggestion: I would love to see the guys setting the field on fire. Just for the sake of nostalgia.

Definitely would have filmed that, but they lit the field on fire the following day.

Aerial Ag I imagine the farmers get less for the whole cane stacks as apposed to the ones that are cut right? The mill would then have to chop it up themselves correct? Trying to not use the world “ah” as much as it kind of gives it away where I am from ah? 😂😂 Oh darn! 😂😂 I try! LOL!!

Brp Fan No I don't think there's any penalty for sending whole stalks. It all get shredded up at the mill anyways whether it's stalks or billets.. you talk like you want to.. ah 😂

Good video as usual. Is it my imagination or was the 2 row cutter around the 8.15 mark going down those rows and actually cutting 3 somehow? or had all the rows been flattened and he was actually just cutting 2. Never seen one of those single row types before - odd looking thing isn't it. Had after cutting that field been burnt off as there was plenty of green tops when cut but it didn't look like any on the stalks being loaded.
@AerialAg
3 жыл бұрын
No, he was cutting two rows, just one was passing over a row of standing cane. The cane was so down and twisted he was having trouble catching the right rows a couple times. At the row ends it looked like a bowl of spaghetti lol.. and yes this cane is burned before it is loaded. And that single row is a 1975 model.. very cool to see one running!
@BRPFan

Aerial Ag Yeah I had never seen a single row cutter without a cab before either, pretty cool that it’s still working fine! Wow 1975 model year, very neat to see it! Thanks!

@@AerialAg Thanks for all that. I'm sorry to keep asking all these questions, - it's just as you can tell I've never seen any of this grown before until I "stumbled" on your 'channel'. For years we had what we call a 'mixed farm' so a crop like this always interests me.
