My mom said something, in a bummed tone, about having to take her pride flags down because pride month is over. I said to her, "you know, you can be proud all year long if you want." And she had this look as if that never even occurred to her. They're still up. She's come leaps and bounds and I'm proud of her. I started watching you when I was questioning if I liked girls. I remember you talking about people saying how they watched you before they noticed they were trans and I was like “no, couldn’t be me, I’m definitely a girl.” Months later now I identify as trans and use he/they pronouns. I'm a trans lesbian, too, so I can relate to that. When I came out two years ago, my mom was the first relative I told. She knew for years that I shave my body hair off and had her suspicions about me at least since I was a teenager. When you factor in step-relatives, I told my step-niece before any of the rest knew. "Malika" is gay, too, and we have plenty of common interests so I felt she was safe to tell. She had her suspicions about me being trans or gay. In a way, she was right about both.

I'm wondering what would be a good alternative to aunt/uncle for someone who identifies as nonbinary or goes by they/them pronouns. I don't have any figures like that in my life and I'm making a character who is nonbinary and has a nephew who is very fond of them. If anyone could help me with this, I would greatly appreciate it! Edit: Thank you all for your help! Another edit: The reason why I don't want to always just use their name is because it's a one-syllable name. I don't know any nicknames that could come from it, but I'll try and come up with some of those too. Also ankle, auncle, and zizi are all really cute. Once again, thank you all for your help!

Hmm… I use they/it/he and I thought abt this type of stuff. Generally I know a lot of people who have thought of “nibling” for nephews/nieces and just siblings who use they/them pronouns (my uncle uses that for me a lot I said they could call me nephew but they don’t want too-) but I think generally, the person who has the nephew would be able too decide if they want to be uncle or auntie? Sometimes I think about when I become an uncle- I’d want to be called uncle because that’s my preference. But it’s very hard to decide- some people like too merge them together but hmm… when you look up on google you’ll see “pibling” standing for parents sibling which I personally think sounds… interesting… but yeah I think most the time I see non-binaries who just identify as “non-binary aunt” or “non-binary uncle” and uh- yeah hope that helps ?? Basically just make it clear that they have decided they are okay too be called aunt or uncle even though they are non-binary and it should be fine I guess ^^

The old lesbian brides one made me tear up a little. I often have this morbid, irrational fear of dying before I finally feel like myself (I'm a trans guy) or biting the dust the moment I finally do feel comfortable in my own skin. I never was scared of aging or dying before my coming out and even felt quite the opposite a few years ago. This is why representation of old queer people is important. To show us that we can grow old too, and that we too have a future. I'm suddenly afraid of dying because now I have an actual life to lose, and an identity along with it.

The funniest ad I've ever seen was a Jack Daniels ad on a video where an alcoholic announced he was quitting drinking for a month to see if he could do it

My county banned all courthouse weddings so that they wouldn't have to perform gay weddings! It's been going on for years, and everyone is just okay with it? Thanks for spreading the wholesome content, I feel like we really needed it

As someone who lives in Alabama, wedding ceremonies are no longer required to get married, you just need to get a marriage certificate at the courthouse where you live. This was issued in 2019 and I think originally it was in response to gay marriage being approved nationally, and some businesses didn’t want to do ceremonies for everyone. It had a negative origin, but now one can get a certificate and be married and do the ceremony whenever they want or not have one at all if they choose to do so.
