@KILLJOY375

@raiz59rulion16 well Sir programming is a relatively new industry for one and secondly you do not have to take my words as there are hundreds of comments in this thread and also Tim Gunn has been on record saying the same thing as well as Zac Posen who I have worked with extensively during my time in the fashion industry. You now have specifics from high-level people in fashion. So I take my experience and their success over that of your sister's experience. Like I said take a look down the rest of this thread not just my post. As far a Cinema is concerned that too was not an open and welcoming atmosphere at first as it had a very public stage and old Hollywood was not very welcoming for gay men to come out on. That comment right there tells me you have no idea what the hell you are talking about. I have worked with quite a few Hollywood actors/actresses in addition to thespians during my time in the industry.

Well the 'myth' is that, back when fashion shows became a thing, because being homosexual was still unlawful the gay designers chose very slim boyish looking women to model the clothes. That's why models have always had that androgynous look with flat chests and chiseled face, like a twink. Many people say it's because slim models make it look better, but that isn't based on any logical reasoning and is dependent on cultures and eras in history. What u think?

My opinon is that gay men have more creative ways of thinking in comparison to straight men. Due to this, you will often find them in creative spheres, like hairdressing, fashion, literature (especially the classics in English), makeup, professional stylist, ballet (and other forms of dance), theatre/acting, art history etc. Gay men are overrepresented in most artistic fields and studies have shown that most of them have a unique sensibility towards aesthetics from a very young age, similar to women, which is why women are also dominant in most of these fields. For many gay men that I've encountered, their brain appears to be wired more towards what is stereotypically feminine, from the ways they dress, speak, use bodily mannerisms, and their interests; this may also be the reason why gay men get along so well with most women. Interesting to think about...

@@gizzo-f5t I'm talking about creativity in terms of the arts. Also, you're not really going to sit here and act like gay men don't have impeccable fashion sense in comparison to the t-shirt and jeans that straight men wear every day, right? There's nothing barring all straight men from paying attention to their fashion and appearance, yet they don't appear to be interested in that on the whole whatsoever... this is what I mean by gay men being more enclined to the creativity of aesthetics, which most straight men are not.

Why? Just a theory, historically the arts in western culture were male dominated (it can take a lot of education to realize a creative vision). So there’s a lingering sense that men “belong” in the designer/ artist role. But gay men are sometimes allowed more fluidity, to play with masculine and feminine and can incorporate that play into their art. Idk that’s my theory.
