There was a time my dad and I had a bet that if we keep a regular broiler for a longer time it will lay which I did I got a big local male to mate with the female broiler and she layed eggs although she did not brood them so put the egg under a local chicken to hatch them and they were hatched although I lost all the chicks to snakes. Then have also tried mating a male broiler to a layer at first he was to big for her but he ifgired it out he only mount her with a leg while the other leg was on the ground she layed and brood her eggs even hatched them

Other than the color (white), they remind me a little bit of "Freedom Rangers" (reddish-colored) that serve as both egg layers and broilers, without the development and functional issues of a lot of broilers.
@FarmUp

Oh i see. I shd search them out
@allynflinchbaugh4570

@@FarmUp I will get Freedom Rangers eventually, because I like birds that can be broody, good parents, and good foragers. (same basic criteria for my geese, ducks, and chickens). I got buff orpingtons because they are good egg layers that satisfy the basic criteria, but I am definitely interested in having a broiler bird that is similar.
