I'm essentially jealous of the freedom you have in places like Toronto. I can safely, and without fear or worry, hold my boyfriends hand only at home or if we're hiking in a place with no other people around. It's terrifying what's happening when any religion mingles with politics in any way... In Poland some time ago we had abortion banned by making it illegal in any circumstances, and they are trying to do the same regarding any kind of discourse around LGBT rights and legitimate sexual education. And all in the name of "christian values and morality", while details sounding weirdly similar to Russian anti-LGBT laws... Personally I see two possibilities for how this will end - collapse of religion or collapse of society as we know it, a great leap forward or backwards...

Sorry to break the news to you But I am double essentially jealous of the situation, as In India even tho it's now legal to be homosexual since 2018 but there's literally 0 awareness of the topic... And I find my peace here on KZitem. Someday I wish there'll be marriage equality here in India.

@@hustler212 I do feel angry, that there are worse places, even ones where its a crime to be gay. People tend to comfort each other with "others have it worse", but it has never worked for me, just made me more upset and mad...

I’m the oldest sibling, and I’m not fine, but who wants to be fine? US gay guy here, the war zone is real, my heart goes out to those queer in the south, I know how hard it can be. I’m lucky to live in a very liberal area but even here, it’s hard to feel safe.

I live in an Indianapolis suburb, and I skipped Pride this year because I didn't feel safe. Indiana is ridiculously conservative. I've been lucky, but most of my LGBTQ+ friends have had some terrible encounters.

I am so sorry, as someone who travels through Indiana semi-frequently, the entire state gives off bad vibes. I know some people who live out there and it’s not great. I’m a Chicago guy myself, I live near the city in Illinois. I’m glad you’ve been safe, I hope someday Indiana will change…

Okay total brain baby moment but I would love love love to see a video on your guy’s takeaway and experience at a Rainbow Gathering. I’m not sure if they happen in Canada (although many countries have their own Rainbow Family) but it’s a celebration and healing event that I know of definitely in the U.S. It happens every year during the first week of July, but many hippies are gathering materials and setting up camps in the deep woods sooner, others stay late as a cleanup crew. No leaders, no judgement, no bathrooms, or tickets for the event. People can be self sufficient or donate and be one with the community. I’ve learned so much from such a diverse group of beautiful people that have all one common idea- the Rainbow Family. I think you guys would really fit into a place like that, and learn a lot while experiencing it!

Another amazing episode. V interesting info about antibodies from sons accumulating and increasing the chances of gay offspring! Bisexual woman here w 1 older brother. ✅️ Happy Pride! Was SO bummed I didn't make it out due to a cold and sprained ankle (nor conducive to hours if dancing) will have to find a diff event to which lingerie and pasties are accepted lol

How does one spell the thing about time and clocks that was discussed in the "what did we learn this week" section? Sekads? Cicads? Secods?
