@@Misionero4Christ I did not say that being a follower of Christ is being in a cult, and I didn't say those things didn't happen. I said I was in A Cult that is part of the Christian fundamentalist religion. There is such a thing as cults in every religion and they are just as rampant in christianity if not moreso. I am not saying that all christianity is a cult, but the large majority of fundamentalism is a cult. The IFB is a cult. And there are many others I can list but I won't. If you want to learn about the others follow cults to consciousness here on youtube.

Standards? The point of going to college is to become educated.. education includes academics AS WELL AS diversity. Socializing with new people, from different races, different countries, differing points of view. Opening your mind to new ideas… Maturing by making mistakes and learning from them. Self control..making your own decisions. What college is not and SHOULD NOT BE is a continuation of your parents who you left at home. Someone telling you who…or when…or IF you can date….someone telling you that you can’t hold hands with someone…when to be in your room…when to sleep, etc. additionally I hear that for years… too many years…blacks were not allowed…and only in the 2000’s did they allow interracial dating? Seriously? And that is Christian? Ugh

There is a kernel of truth, but the story is twisted. Now though that the students agree to follow the school’s rules. His failure is that he is pulling out of context the students’ (the majority) purpose in attending this university and projecting his lifestyle and purposes onto them. The humor I find is by how much he misses the mark I do hope he can visit one day. It is a remarkable place.

I think he was talking about chapel. When I was there in 2004 we had to go to chapel Monday through Friday. Also, there was a time that lights had to be off (maybe 10 on weekdays and later on the weekends?), but I think you could study in the hallway if you wanted to. I've really tried to block out my year there so I can't remember everything, but I know my room got in trouble more than once for having our lights on past lights out. Although, I know you didn't need to get permission to get coffee on campus with someone of the opposite sex. You only had to get permission if you were going off campus and of course then you also needed to have more people going.
