We have a 440e at work. The saw really impressed me its very resoectable for the cost of it

You can almost buy two 440e's for the price of one 543XP! The 543XP is overpriced imo for what the buyer is getting. I have a 440e like you and agree. For the price I think it's a nice light impressive little saw. It's perfect for limbing, and fine for the occasional tree felling, bucking and firewood cutting chores of small diameter wood. It's not a heavy use intended saw though.

I just bought a 543 today. I also own a 545. The 543 is for my oldest boy but its sure nice little saw to run. I like running the 545 also, i find it nice for certain wood stands around here, i also have a 257, 61, 266, 288. Ill probably sell off the 257 and 61 but they have served me quite well for what i invested in them.

Hi, nice video I like your informal style & you make some good points about weight & power, my 45cc Stihl broke down once & I limbed up with a 365 for several hours so I really appreciate the need for a lighter saw that runs for longer, think Id get a 543 if I diddn't now have a 346. As for tool less tensioners, I dont like them either, if it dosn't have two nuts & bolts holding the bar on, it dosnt get bought! Thank you, well done.

After watching this. I dont know what size saw to buy. But I know it has to be orange. Tractors have to be orange too. So I did learn somthing

Incidentally, take a look at the Dolmar 420 - the 543 is expensive in Europe & the Dolmar 200 euros cheaper for a similar saw; pro build, 43cc, .325 chain & very light.

keep up the good info. When it comes down to the reality of purchasing a saw and keeping it stock. It seems like you tend to naturally move to the 550, 562. But the muffle mods seems to make all the difference in saws like the 543 and 555 and 365. vibration and ease of starting seem to take the biggest importance with your average person. For me buying a saw with the thought that I can do mod later down the road seems like the most interesting choice. Thats why the ranchers don't appeal to me that much. Its amazing how much one can learn from listening to you too. Bob really knows his husky's wish I had a chainsaw shop like bob's around were I live in north idaho

Husqvarna 543 is really nice saw, i have heated handles on that. At the first 5 tanks it was bad but after that it started to wake up and since tank 10 it has really been great. I run 13 inch guide bar with .325 chain on it. Started with Stihl ms201 and the Husky feels so much better for me, yeah its 1,8kw vs 2,2kw. Ms201 is great for limbing but i just wanted little bit more power..... But for now i have no need for bigger chainsaw at all :)

For me ..the 543 cost as much as the 550 so I'like the 550 M2, it with a muffler mod is crazy . The only 40cc I'd buy is a craftsman , cheap and good for limbing

Bob is completely right about that horribly designed tool less chain tensioner Husky uses. Sorry I bought it. Took an ENTIRE HOUR to get the new chain on. 2 Hex nuts takes mere minutes to change out a bar or chain that is shot.

For me I thought that your presentation was on the money, there are several saws out there & a lot of people may have a hard choice on which saw to buy, I believe that with all the saws that you brought into your video sums it up, the 543 did do a better job, for myself, the 543 is the one that is your all around saw for the money. As far as your blades go, on the 543, does the saw seem to start cutting at an angle when the blade is getting dull, I've been having a small problem with that & seems that cutting hard wood just does a number on the blades. Thank you for the information in the video....

You can put a 4 lug starter on a 435. I did it and it works fine. That 2 lug starter on the 435 is impossible to start. I cannot fathom why Husqvarna put that piece of crap recoil starter on the 435. I never really noticed a thinkers difference between the 440 and 435, other than the 435 had a 16 inch bar. I love the smaller saws, e.g. my ms-180 and ms-241, over any of my 50 c.c saws any day of the week. I have several 50 c.c. saws but I will take weight over power anytime. The only time I grab a bigger saw is when I need their longer bars. I match the saw with what I have to cut. I try to keep my bar several inches longer than the wood I have to cut.

I hear ya, for me it is the 50 cc 450, and I sure would like to try a 550 because if that's a fully tuned 450 at the same weight, there wouldn't be anything I'd be afraid to cut based on power and it's so delightfully light I can limb and buck literally all day and not wear out.

Can I ask your opinion on a new 550XP mk2 vs a new 555 for firewood cutting hardwood in Vermont. I sold my last bigger saw cause of shoulder problem so looking for lighter weight saw.
@afleetcommand

Yeah go with the 555 all day, more power, less high strung ; and more likely to last a life time w/o crank stuffers and a really high RPM design
@afleetcommand

If you have to go the 550 route for weight, consider the 545 with it's spring assisted start. It's got the same displacement as a 550, just not all wound out pushing the power and rpm boundaries as a design. And note that if you get caught in the power to weight thing, a spring assist start from the 545 can be retro'ed to the 550.

Hey! Why does the beer bottle on the right seem to not get picked up as much as the one on the left?
@afleetcommand
9 жыл бұрын
+dyer2cycle Because the one on the left is operated by a more...scatter brained type who "grazes" and the one on the right a much more organized type. He is more efficient and drains those bottles in one attempt.
