There's also the "vicious circle" effect: people buy white cars because that's what's available, and manufacturers build mainly that color because that's what people buy.

0:56 "Those colors reflected the optimism and boldness of the era". Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I can't stop thinking about WHY somebody decided to rob people of optimism and boldness by discreetly replacing bright and vibrant colors of the past with the modern various shades of depression.

I was looking at the colors available for a car the other day. The colors were white, gray, gray, gray, black and red. At least they offered red! 3 shades of gray. SMH.

Gray cars are the last ones to look dirty. White cars don't get too hot. Black or red cars look cool. Those colors are all less likely to fade than the fancy colors.
