I mean, this would explain his calm demeanor during the revenge of the sith. Granted, Yoda was clearly upset over his Jedi brethren being killed but in general, he seemed to compose himself pretty quickly. No, it wasn't just sadness that was in Yoda's expressions during the second half of the film, nearing the total destruction of the Jedi, it was more of a look of self-disappointment and shame. Yes, he fully realised the mistakes that were made but, it was almost in an expected way. I remember being puzzled by that a long time ago when I saw the film in cinema, but again, people deal with grief and shock in different ways, so I just topped it off to that however, in light of seeing Yoda's journey during the clone wars, it actually makes sense. Again, obviously greatly saddened by seeing his fellow Jedi dwindle down in numbers, feeling through the Force as they are being killed but at the same time, not shocked enough in the debilitating way, more like a "it's happened" sort of way. I don't know, I just always found that fascinating.

"Tolerating...slavery...and endless wars". Sounds like a 2nd year poli-sci student all full of Dunning-Kruger. Just how does one force the Hutts and Pykes to end slavery without a lot of pew-pew action and likely bloodshed of the oppressed peoples themselves? Sounds real thoughtful when you say it at the frat party though. I think Dooku had long been turned and all he was doing was planting the seeds of doubt. He was never an idealist. Rather than a second year polisci student in full Dunning-Kruger mode, you seem to be far too jaded and cynical, which needs to be tempered with moderate idealism.

It’s ironic that not only did Yoda lead the Jedi and the Jedi council to their doom, but he got advance notice of it but kept the information to himself, and then “managed” to be one of few survivors of Order 66, and then he hid out in a swamp, and in effect let much of the galaxy burn for a couple decades. Could someone please explain why he’s still considered one of the “good guys?” Seriously, I’ll even give him that he knew he couldn’t stop it, but to just stumble forward blindly was just moronic, I mean you would think he could covertly work to prepare for, and help minimize the loses, even if this was simply moving a few younger Jedi, and various Jedi holocrons and/or writings into hiding, while eliminating some of the more dangerous items contained within the vaults of the Jedi temple. The list of force sensitive children across the galaxy is a perfect example of something he should have secured or destroyed
@lufsolitaire5351

In a galaxy filled with incomprehensible beings, things, and places, it’s honestly crazy the Jedi didn’t think that Qui-Gon Jinn of all people managed to retain his consciousness after death. The man did not play by the rules and very much studied ancient mysticisms, it’s not crazy to think he found light-side ways to immortality. They could move things with their minds and met gods and beings of the force, Qui-Gon being a force ghost should have been Tuesday for them. But ultimately it’s a sign of how rigid and dogmatic that era of the Jedi were that they could dismiss things that were very much possible in their world. Albeit probably because such information was kept under lock and key.

Anyone that came forward to tell the truth was quickly taken and hushed up by the so called once noble Jedi Council. All the seers and those with much greater power than most were all ostracized and vanished. Really doesn't make sense at all, but it is what happened. My personal opinion is how individuals lacking what does it truly mean to have a Grandmaster in a religious order since that is what the Jedi are, they're not just Warriors. The whole purpose of a Grandmaster is to make sure that the sect stays with the foundational core values of its order. In other words Master Mace Windu asking Yoda if he had any answers how to win the war makes sense since he is the master of the order, but Yoda The Grandmaster which means his focus is the spiritual aspect of the order not the physical aspect which is the job of the master of the order. To simplifie it more Mace Windu is to encourage Jedis to be the warrior of the light side; while Yoda enlightens them on what it means to follow the will of the force,( basically the Jedi Guru of the order.) You see some times Gurus withhold information if they feel a person is not spiritually ready for the information,( because placing something in a vessel that is not ready for it will destroy the vessel, a good example is placing Soulding hot grease in a container that was never designed to hold it. So rather destroying their Spirit Yoda protected them.) Hence the reason why he said nothing, especially after he had to sneak out to even go on his spiritual journey.
