Altijd bedankt. 🧡 I found this video interesting. I'm from South Korea and hear often actually from the Dutch themselves that Dutch people complain a lot. 😂 Well, this is just my opinion but I think Korean people complain even more haha (or are stressed out by so many things?). I feel complaining about the weather here sometimes works as a small talk/an ice breaker. And things like tax, housing and etc are more like being critical than merely complaining? Anyway, like the woman who said she's an optimist, I thought I should see and focus more on a good side of the things. 😊

@@hirsch4155 you're talking about one of the most docile nations that never complains about anything. Ironically, when they once did (very recently), they were silenced with the most Draconian and the most authoritarian means ever used in modern times.

😂 True, it's just that we want to show the language as it really is spoken by people, so we ask people to express themselves as they usually would do. We also have videos in slower and/or easier language though, take a look at the Super Easy Dutch playlist!

Everybody uses überhaupt in NL. We stole this German word including ü, which is not Dutch either. In Dutch spelling it should be uuberhaupt, then you get the ü sound.

@rthjong the spelling is not true. In Dutch spelling, it would be totally okay to spel it with single "u" without umlaut. As long as there's no dubbel "b" after it, the sounds stays "uu".

The Dutch may seem to complain a lot, but never as much as let's say, the French, who usually do something about it by taking action, at the end of the day, and despite the noise that they make, the Dutch are more obedient than most. And what seems to be genuine continuous complaining from the Dutch, is just their way of indulging in small talk, of which I actually prefer the Dutch expression of "Koetjes en kalfjes" little cows and calves (literal translation).
