Yes I used to load many trucks when they came to Ontario with the many tires and axles from Michigan USA and it was very funny to see this in Ontario Canada. We didn't have this kind of restrictions. The worst Tires on Trailers to damage the highways was the giant single tires on trailers they make ruts and damage roads.

In Switzerland, relatively short (9.6 m / 32 ft) trucks with five axles are quite common. They are allowed to have a total weight of 40 (metric) ton. What makes them somewhat special is that three out of the five axles are steered (the front two and the last one), which enables a turning radius below 20 m / 64 ft.

I'm surprised but not shocked to discover how long it takes to refuel an A380! I hope there are enough Snickers bars to go around because no one's going anywhere for a while.

Surely all those tyres and wheels add significantly to the ULW of the vehicle thus reducing the payload? The tyre scrub going around bends will cause more damage to the road surface than is saved by the reduced axle load. Why don't they use 'Super single' 385/65R22.5 on the trailers, that would save some weight?

One reason is if you have a flat you're sitting till help comes no matter where you are unless on tag.

I pulled them back in the 80s all but 3 of the axels could be lifted to turn a sharp corner had 11 axels on my trailer with wells for steel coils the super singles were not popular at that time for the reason a flat would stop you dead duals would let you to get to service we ran the Indiana Ohio toll toads mostly from mills to the stamping plants most of it is gone now the mills and auto industry died .

@@johnsiders7819 I drove in the oilfield in early 80s and from 90 till 2018 going from well site to pipeline. They wanted us to go super single and we said no way because of flat problems and traction on drivers. Drove 4 axle truck with tank and pulled 5 axle pup 1 tag in each.

I wonder...just outta pure curiosity- that Tatra Tree Mover at the end, because of how it digs up a tree - could that be used to dig one big hole? It's got a "clamshell" attachment - so I just wondered.
@michaelgarrison688

Yes they can dig the hole. Usually they do that first. Lay tarp beside the tree and dump the dirt on. Then they pick up the tree and take it to the other hole. I was wondering why had a back hole there because you can dig the hole with the transporter. The larger companies would use 2 of these machines to avoid any extra machine and labor.

I used to pull the Michigan trains back in the early 80s before all the steel mills and auto industry died hauled steel coils from the mills to the stamping plants had 11 axels on a flat bed with wells that the coils sat in could for a sharp turn raise all but 3 of them those days of our industrial mite are long gone never to return .
