I don't think I've ever heard anyone say before that the 30 in Vintage 30 was for centimetres.

Make a big guitar line array: 21" on the bottom, working your way up with an 18", 15", 12", 10", 8", 6" , tiny tweater etc. Hahahah. Make two for stereo!

Just one thing. The room you record your demo's in doesn't really do justice to the sound of the cabinets you make. I think they deserve a better environment to really shine. They would come across much better in sort of a bigger living room slightly acousticly controlled room. I would look forward to see something like that in the future. I'm sure it will help to get the marketing to the next level. Nonetheless the cabs sound great even in a rehearsal like space. Anyway, you guys are doing great. I love your video's.

Surely a rehearsal-like space is a far more realistic place to demo cabs? However, why do you think this isn’t a “slightly acoustically controlled room”?

I've seen your cabs once before in a demo and the technology seems freshly innovative and amazing IMO. I'm more of a (crunch/hi gain) closed back cab guy, but I genuinely must eventually get my hands on at least one of your 1x12's! Cheers lads! ✌🤟🖖

They’re very good at crunch/hi gain stuff - like closed back cabs with more of everything!

When I saw the title, I was confused, but now I get it. I still think the Upsizing is the one for me. I could live happily with any of them, but I want a vertical cab, and the Upsizing just sounds more like what I want to sound like. It feels like home, for me.

This comparison was great. Now I know I have to save more money for the big upsizing monster. I need the deep and massive tones for my music I play. With a lot of distortion and low tuned guitars and my baritone, I think I will get very happy with the upsizing... Thank you very much for this informative video. 😁🤘

Fwiw I figured out a long time ago I can make almost any speaker work for cleaner tones. But as soon as I add distortion it’s a completely different story. And it’s a make or break kind of thing. Like g12h30’s. Love them for clean. Do not like them at all for distorted tone. Similar thing with g12t75’s. V30’s are like the speaker everyone can use, but not my favorite. I love greenbacks and just bought an uprising with Creamback m65’s. And it is quickly becoming a favorite too.

Creamback M65s or H75s? Curious which you actually mean. I have an H75 and V30 mix.

@@jakesgaming4091 hey sorry about that. I edited to m65’s. In my experience it seems it’s the heavy magnets that have a more prominent fizzy top end I don’t like for distorted tones. It works great to add some air for clean tones. That said I do need to try some h75’s. Just to be sure.

@@cmatte82 Thanks for that bud. Wasn't sure which you were referring to. I believe the M is a little more mid focused. I like the H75 but that doesn't mean you will...

I have a reformer 1x12 which sounds great. One question. Sometimes I have a big Marshall head that has rubber feet that are wider than the cab. As a result the handle doesn’t allow me to place it on top without being wobbly. so I put the cab on its side. The question is, does putting the cab on its side mess up the dispersion pattern since now the AVD panels would be horizontal instead of vertical? Thanks.

@@daveblairmusic it’s not as good as having it the right way around but it’s still an awful lot better than a normal guitar cab! Do an AB test and see if you can tell (particularly if you can get a bandmate to do the rotation without you seeing which way around the cab is) and report back. Also, you could add some extra feet to the Marshall head or use a foam mat with a handle cut-out, to solve the wobble.

The Uprising sounds amazing - which is lucky because that’s the one I had my eye on. Can you stack 2 vertically - or put 2 side by side? On the Rat distortion, the Upsizing sounded incredible!

Alex the sideways speakers sounded out of phase, the upright with the white banding was for me the best the big 'un was ok for all , but I've found most guitarists would prefer the middle one,,,,,they need to cut through when playing with bass and mic'up kick drums ,,,playing live, studio, rehearsal, with those others they would be swamped in the mix, even though they sounded the dogs boluxx

I think they’ll all cut through in different ways - clearly we need to make a video demonstrating this!

Why does the Radical sound so much less loud than the others?
@BarefacedAudio
Жыл бұрын
Mostly because of the single AVD but also the Barefaced Line Array crossover which helps its dispersion. It’s got a super-tight coherent sound, ideal for punching through dense mixes, fitting around another guitar and/or keys and/or seriously dirty bass guitar. I was thinking about this difference in loudness and how we need to show how louder isn’t always better - but because of the way the human ear is, in an AB test louder usually wins. Most guitar amps paired with Radicals have so much power to spare so a quieter cab is rarely a bad thing and often beneficial!

@@BarefacedAudio Yeah it would be interesting to see a volume-compensated comparison between these cabs to show the tone difference at the same volume. I use 30-50 watt tube heads and they can go way louder than what I normally play at for gigging and rehearsal so I'm sure they could push the Radical up to the volume I need, but it would interesting to see how much more volume you need to get it to the same perceived volume as the Uprising, and would be interesting to learn more about the Barefaced Line Array crossover, maybe a good subject for another video!
