I DON'T KNOW When I started making game video content, I tried Twitch pretty heavily but realized that uncurated content tends to be a waste of everyone's time. A two-hour live session is just not worth much compared to something that's been carefully selected and edited for KZitem. People who regularly spend their time watching Twitch must think themselves immortal.

Simple, because we like to feel like we're part of something that strikes us as fun and/or exciting. Nobody watches Twitch and doesn't make any comments. People like to "hang out" on Twitch and react to what's going on, talk about random shit, etc.

The very idea of watching other people, as a gamer, made me really angry and helpless. I always wondered, why are people so into Twitch culture of streaming and watching other people play? I was never into it...until last week. I decided to stream Dishonored and wanted to play for like an hour tops. While playing, I met some cool people via the twitch stream. We conversed about a lot of random stuff, took their suggestions on how to move forward with the game, etc. Before I knew what was happening, I spent over 2 hours playing and talking. Then I realized why people love this, it is not actually about watching other people play games, but about having conversation and meeting new people around it. It is in a way, a very social thing which is the exact opposite of where gaming went in the last generation of consoles. Anyone who interested can follow me, I will be streaming Broken Age in the next few days, followed by Murdered: Soul Suspect. As always, I am always open for a good conversation! www.twitch.tv/rock1m1

Personally I watch twitch not for the games, but for the personalities. There are a bunch of streamers who get almost no viewers, even though they're playing a very popular game. Why? Because they're not as entertaining (and not as good at marketing themselves) as the successful ones are.

Fucking E-Sports can bring out the worst in people... Truth be told, this was kind of a waste of an episode. Everybody knows why people watch others play games, it's because of the commenator's personality, the personality's experience with the game, tutorial, competition and to check the game. Simple. I guess it was great to see the more scientific perspective of this, but still, wish this would be another topic...

Cute girls on twitch are tho most viewed just log on and you will see what I'm talking about. A lot of ppl don't really care about the gameplay mainly their there to have a social connection with that person by commenting. The gameplay you could say it's a bonus since the person is in to games as you are which makes it better to interact with that person if you have the same likes.

***** Your english is so bad, that I don't understand what you're trying to say. I could guess and my response would be: Real sports games on TV involve professionals. So I could somewhat understand it when you watch prof gamers. I still would rather spend my time playing the game myself. The same applies to real sports. The thing is, you can't be sporting any time of day, like at night when you're watching a sports game. On Twitch people are watching any random ass streamer though. And some spend more time watching streamers than playing games themselves. It's insanity and a new level of low.

Whoever comes up with the argument of "Why don't you just play it yourself?" has obviously never been on twitch. Plus its kinda like watching any sports game. You could obviously ask "Why don't you just go outside and play?". Watching Twitch can be like watching TV, or it can be like a nice chat room between the video provider and the audience. Frankly its an outlet for other people to video games and you to watch and enjoy the video, person, commentary etc. Anyone who thinks otherwise, just has never done it, or isn't that into video games to be bothered with it. P.S I like Lucy :D. Her and Cam should do a double team of a video

People don't post the "give me an extra life" or "will you water my crops" notifications to enhance their social network connections. They do it because of the stupid way the games are designed to try and squeeze you for money. If people don't help you out and you don't rope your friends into the game then you're either going to have to fork over real dollars to advance or stop playing the game.
