Little detail here concerning Viceroy, Mac doesn't use a whammy bar (mostly because the Cardboard Queen has no whammy) but he bends the guitar neck instead ;) Of course, that might have changed when he switched to Fenders, but originally, there's no whammy ! Excellent video though, thanks for your work !

Awesome video. Ive always been confused about guitar tab websites that said tune to a specific hz. to play his songs. This video cleared that up with the tape manipulatuion and how it affected the tuning.

Hey man, well done on this analysis, been listening to Mac for about 8 years and I completely agree. Here is a request/question can you do something similar about the Growlers? I’ve been into them for about as long and I just love all the guitar riffs that Matt the lead guitarist does. I mean I love everything about them. Cheers, keep well

the whammy bar tip @11:30 or so, about how just holding it and playing naturally makes the guitar go flat- I had never thought of it that way. That's really a great tip

Its funny you say about the capo pushing the strings out of tune, indeed it does as I found out personally but thicker gauge strings fixed it for me 😎

he also likes sliding down the neck in between or before he plays a chords to kind of fade in the sound, i noticed this is very definitive when you check him playing 'dreaming' on the acoustic guitar for instance
