#residentevil #capcomgames #survivalhorrorgaming A question I have been wondering for a while now. Why doesn't Capcom just re-relase these games? What's their problem?
Hopefully they will release a Resident Evil 1-CVX Remastered Collection for the series 30th anniversary in 2026.

Tank controls are fun. Everything else feels / controls the same nowadays. Which is ok. But going back to the tank controls adds an extra dimension to the experience & also makes the survival experience feel like more of a challenge. & it just makes your brain work in a different way. Hopefully you have planted a seed in the universe by making this video, so this collection can manifest

I would love for the og style ro return. Imho the aiming sequence should go fps like RE survivor. Also make the games harder! A swarm mode should be added, some zombies walk, walk faster lounge at you, and even run! Hell, make them chase you to the next rooms! If a monster catches you off guard, or has you in a bind, you drop certain equipment.

I don't have problems with TPS control scheme. The problem is they are making half-assed remakes, cutting out most features that made the original games special. For example, the character swapping system in the original RE2 had its flaws already, why don't improve upon it in the remake? In RE3, Nemesis was implemented with pseudo-random generator to pursue you, why don't make him an active threat in the remake, making him more relentless? I remember, it took me at least 8 grenades in the original to put down Nemesis, and he seriously messed up my health in the process. In the remake? Just throw a grenade, and he falls flat on his face.

Re3 was the one that really needed a remake, because the original game was quite held back by the ps1 limitations. Instead it's the worst one out of the remakes. All of them have glaring flaws sadly. Not bad games per se, but disappointing remakes.

Good question. Its quite pathetic & annoying they don't do really things like this anymore. Many people would buy day 1 including me. These are classics. Played them when they came out & the nostalgia would be great. & many new players would try them for the first time

I'll tell you why and Capcom is free to refute it : it's for the same reason why other companies don't release in bundles their older games or just re-release them*, they see it as both "competition" to their current line of games and especially the remakes, so they want that market share to turn a profit before they even attempt to think to re-release the classics. And the second, is due to once them releasing that, they'd be forced to release them on Steam as well nowadays, which doesn't net them the full amount of money upon purchase and IIRC, Steam actually gets more of a cut than PSN did when hosting games, so for a lot a publishers, it's a losing game(in their mind, which is stupid because they could re-release games on the Switch and it'd sell like hotcakes, probably outselling their Steam inputs.) but probably due to the very real fear of Steam actually profiting more than them in the long run, which isn't an unfounded worry. Like the Silent Hill community, do not wait for the new Capcom or the nu-Company that was built on the sacrifices and work or the devs that aren't even in the company anymore to care about those classic games; they've been remastered for PC use years ago by the fans and they'll be kept alive by the fans. *Unless they have the perfectly valid excuse of having deleted that game due to the shortage of memory back in the 90s, which was sadly common and why some games were lost forever and had some companies just download the shitty roms and sell those or why some remasters are actually made from the ground up, looks up FF8's remaster.

It is possible they don't want competition from their older catalogue, but it would be an odd reason, considering they don't seem to have this problem with street fighter or megaman. Losing the source code of the og psgames is possible as well, but considering those 3 games all had pc ports of some kind, plus all other ports such as n64, dreamcast, gamecube, I don't think it would be hard to just convert it in some way. Today's consoles are barely disguised pc's anyway. The only problem would be code veronica, but there is a ps3/360 version other than dreamcast and ps2, so maybe something can be done there too. It is usually a problem when those things get lost, when the games only had one version and were never ported elsewhere. I may be wrong though. It is weird how no journalist has asked capcom this simple question yet.

@@Dami19XX The world of the board of directors is a weird one, especially in Capcom's yakuza climate. Not even joking, people joke about Nintendo's yakuza connections but never bring up the Tsujimoto family. The founder, Kenzo, was weird as well and still runs his wine company on the side. I know Sega and SE lost some of theirs, never heard Capcom ever having that problem ever, which is why I put it on an asterisk; also why I'm more inclined to believe my first choice of "dmb shit the board of directors think for numbers to go up". Even if youtube guys asked them in the form of an interview, it's highly unlikely they'd answer that, Capcom isn't that kind of company. As for Megaman, never expect anything from it ever again, the only reason we got the classic, X and Zero collections, along with the offline version of X Dive is because of one guy, who "quit" the company right after SF6 was shipped out, right after he helped producing it. When something's too good, it's the work of one guy pushing through unbelievable odds inside Capcom. Always has been the case.

Because they are not about to put resources into remastering and re-releasing games with outdated gameplay and controls just because a niche audience wants it for nostalgia purposes. They would most likely lose a lot money because alot of people dont want to play a game with tank controls and fixed camera angles, what they are doing now which is remastering old games by updating the graphics, controls, and making small tweaks to the stories while also keeping the heart and soul of the originals intact, while simultaneously making new games with the same engine and mechanics and new characters and stories to make the franchise more cohesive is what's best for resident evil
@JG004-kk1do
13 күн бұрын
They wouldn't be wasting resources though as ports/remasters are outsourced to other companies most of the time and it wouldn't be a financial risk either. As for the mechanics they can't do anything with the camera but they can get rid of the tank controls and the fans have already fixed the graphics. I hate how people belittle and alienate older fans by using that awful nostalgia strawman, besides they are banking of off it with the new remakes as it makes them money and ports/remasters are mainly used to preserve older games. If a bad company like Konami can do it so can Capcom, especially seeing as they release collections like that all the time. What they are doing is fully remaking the games. A remake means to make a new and different version which despite how good they are isn't preserving the games or progressing the series as much as new/original games would.
@daelin9759

@@JG004-kk1do from my understanding that's not what people are talking about, they're essentially asking for 1-3 with new graphics but everything else essentially the same because they would prefer that over the remakes we've been getting. The problem with that is that they would have to spend money and time to do that and nobody except for a small group of older fans or super nerds are paying for essentially a 30 year old game with 30 year old mechanics and a new coat of paint especially not if it cost as much as other modern triple a games. Nobody belittling anybody but if you just use your brain it's common fucking sense. Them doing anything to update 20 or 30 year old game is a waist of time and money and doesn't make sense business wise especially when they can just remake it as a whole and sell it as basically a whole new product that older fans will like if it's faithful enough to the source material and newer fans can get into because it's modernized and fresh. If the remakes aren't good enough for yall go buy an original Playstation and the original copies of the games but they're not going out of their way to pour money and man power into something so outdated just to appease the minority. That's bad business.

@@daelin9759 Yeah but most of the fans asking for it want them because they aren't readily available. If they did it they would only have to spend money to outsource it, ask to use the HD mod, or just put them on PS+/game pass/steam and we'd still be getting new games/remakes too. They probably wouldn't charge much either and to be fair they've done similar collections for even older games like mega man/street fighter. They even did it with RE 1r/0 in 2015 which took them more resources than a collection of the OG trilogy would, they even made some additions to both games and worked on revelations 2 alongside it. It's high sales are actually why they decided to remake RE 2. Though if they do a classics collection it might not be for a while. Also that second thing wasn't aimed towards you but "belittling" was a bad choice of words so my bad, I should also add that I'm not an older fan.
@daelin9759
13 күн бұрын
@@JG004-kk1do yeah but you still gotta think the money it would take to outsource it and advertise it still needs to be recouped, so then you really gotta ask how much are you gonna charge for something like that because it can't be 50 to 70 bucks like most games now because this is something that's old. So it would be tuff spot because if you set the price to high for an old product people aren't going buy it enough and you're going to take a lose but if you set the price too low it still might not sell enough for you to make a profit because it's still an old product and it makes it even worse when newer remasted versions of these games have been out for years so ask yourself how many people are really going to buy it? The answer is most likely not enough for it to be worth your time as a company when you can just put that time and money into making a whole new resident evil or remaking one of the old games and you know it's going to be one of the biggest games of the year and it's going to sell and you're going to make a guaranteed profit. They would literally have to do something like what you're talking about simply out of the kindness of their hearts and be ok with losing money which isn't going to happen anytime soon
