It's never selfish to focus on your goals. Because if your purpose is not the most important thing in your life, then you are committing a crime against yourself. Whatever it is that you do. And If you do value your purpose, Even your woman is going to support you and respect you. Keep it up Nick, I'm positive that you'll make it big in the fitness industry. I don't think that's really a great path seeing him and how he lives his life, I mean I'm not trying to speak for him or anything, but special forces don't really provide you with skills to take with you when you leave the service, being a professional killer that has the ability to be a ghost wherever you go isn't really something that works out well in the civilian world.
@InvisibleHotdog

Yes, I'm sure the mandatory language, weapons, communication, medical, and engineer skills along with opportunities for further education like getting a Masters along with the universally-useful mental attributes are gonna leave a SF guy unemployable, not to mention the GI Bill. If anything Special Forces wouldn't take him because of Persec and Opsec violations.
@SitRepful
8 жыл бұрын
While Army Special Forces can and do conduct direct action missions, their primary mission is unconventional warfare and foreign internal defense. Or more simply: Teaching. The broad swath of skills SF have to learn are very valuable skills to have on the job market. Additionally, there are the intangible qualities that are every bit as valuable, even if it may not seem so if you don't have them. Resourcefulness, time management, leadership skills, empathy, teamwork. I am a Navy guy, and even then I would be the first to say that US Army Special Forces offer the most "employable" skills out of all the services.

something I've always wondered about people in the military. I've worked for the last 5 years ever since I graduated highschool and it really sucks, especially because it's been factory work and I can't exactly be proud of it. now I'm joining the air force in order to start a career I can be proud of, so when I here about people who enjoy the military leaving the military especially if you're one of the guys who says it's the best thing they've ever did, I wonder why in the world they would want to do that and start over. granted there's great jobs and career outside the military. to me the military seems like a way better career as long as you don't absolutely hate it.

Nick I have a question. I have been dieting and working out for about 4 months now and have been successful so far as to losing fat (35lbs) and putting on muscle. I don't track macros but I do weigh out serving sizes and try to keep my portions on point to keep losing fat. My question is do you have some suggestions of easy things I can add to my daily meals to help with hunger. I try to eat every 3 hours or so but I'm starting to get hungry in between meals and snacks. Thanks for your service and your videos Nick they are great motivation and full of useful info. Brandon

+poleclimber1985 Adding more vegetables into your meals always helps stay fuller a little longer. You can also choose food options that are denser like potatoes, rice, lean meats. When I'm dieting and start getting hungry I tend to "clean up" my diet as much as possible the foods are typically less caloric dense.

Hi, Nick! I don't know if you'll see this, but I was wondering if you believe that people have caloric "sweet-spots", especially for weight loss. I cut my caloric intake down to 1400 a day, or less, and didn't lose any weight. I'm worried that I slowed down my metabolism too much. I'm upping the intake to 1600-1800 a day now. I know this isn't much info to go off of. Mostly I'm curious about your opinion on cutting calories, and how much you should cut if you want to lose weight. This is, of course, including weight lifting/cardio 3-4 times a week. I know that macros are important, and I've been placing an emphasis on protein.
@nickbarefitness
8 жыл бұрын
+Optomystyc I like to decrease calories pretty slowly depending on how much time I have to cut. If you want to lose 1 lb a week, you need to be in a 3,500 calorie deficit over 7 days (500 calories a day). I wouldn't make drastic changes to your calories, but like I said in this video...enjoy the process and trust the process. 1,400 calories seems pretty low and I'm not sure where you started at but if you drop calories too much too fast it can have negative effects on the remaining weight loss journey

Why would he regret it? Women kill dreams and ambition and cost too much money. Him focusing on himself will allow him the possibility of acquiring vast wealth while never having to worry about getting a girl pregnant. His sexual market value will increase as his wealth increases, regardless of him getting older. Just look at Tom Leykis, overweight, not very attractive, but has fat cash so he gets whatever chicks he wants. From your comment, it sounds like you weren't committed enough to finish college and pursue the career you want which means lack of money and status, which is what women want. Get money and the women will flock to you.

That lonely feeling you're experiencing in Seoul is the same in almost any big city in the world. Granted, it's amplified because of the language barrier, but it's still there in English speaking cities in the US or UK. My take is that it's just a symptom of overcrowding. I found it to be different in the "smaller" cities. I was stationed in Daegu in the 80s and was all over the peninsula as a contractor in the 90s (Seoul, Osan, Pyongtaek, Daegu, Kunsan, Busan, Waegwan, and Tong Du Chon 'Casey'). I found civilians in the smaller towns to be very friendly, in spite of the language barrier. It helps if you make some effort to learn even a scant vocabulary of the language.

I respect what you do both in military and privately. I just think they are making mistake if you leave the Army as you are planning. You are young, healthy , educated, seem like a good leader. If you can land a good job as a manager somewhere you will be fine, but opening your own business is very risky . Best of the luck to you whatever you decide !

I wish KZitem was around when I was in the Marine Corps. 02-06. I sorta went down your journey, and became a personal trainer. Great videos, and I wish you success in the future with your company. Thanks Nick.

I'm from Georgia so I get pumped up to hear someone not from Georgia or from the south say they loved Georgia! I may be a little biased, but Georgia is definitely one of the best places ever.

Sir youre very inspirational. I always trying to acomplish so much but end up doing so little, and just like you when i got to korea i decided not to buy internet, Tv and my xbox is under my bed.. But one thing you just mentioned is that you write down a schedule. So from now on i will do the same, hopefully i can acomplish more during the day when i have to meet timelines.
