Here's a casual chat about my thoughts on the N64 & why I don't seem to like it as much as others, even though the console is actually good!

I actually thought the same thing. I was gonna buy a Nintendo 64 but some of the games are so expensive, but at the same time it's cool to have one of those consoles from the 90s. I will be buying one in the near future and Mario Kart is one of the best games aswell as Super Mario Party is real fun. GoldenEye was a nice game for it's time, although is now more of a relic, but fine game history aswell. Perfect Dark was real fun to play in 1997 as it was quite different to every other game out there. There's tons of great games including the Super Mario games with Yoshi. So yeah, I'll definitely buy a Nintendo 64 in a month or so because it's nostalgia and we all love a bit of nostalgia, I never owned a Nintendo console ever so in 2024 it'll be the first time I will have one and I'll be getting a nostalgia euphoric feeling once I get to playing it again just like I got in the 90s, but I'd still much prefer PS1 or PS2 games as they just feel and play alot better. Although I won't say no to Nintendo as they do have a compelling alternative console among the rest of the console generations that now exist today, so I'm happy for Nintendo as they do have quite a good legacy and game history they contributed with to the world and we all should be happy that they even distributed these consoles to the world as it changed our lives, thoughts and feelings forever. That's just my review of Nintendo and their brand of consoles and I hope that they keep making consoles in the future.

Just a correction, Perfect Dark was released in 2000 for the N64 :) Very valid & understandable:) For me, if I got one, I'd want it RGB modded then I'd buy an everdrive cartridge so I can any game I wanted from the Internet while still keeping the real hardware intact :)

@@TheAffroShowGameplay You're right, it must've been in around the year 2000 in September or 2001 when I first played that specific game.

I'm counting on your open mind here. The audio volume in all your videos is so quiet it's hard to defend. I can only hear them if I wear a headset.

It is quieter than you might be used to because loud volumes make the quality output sink fast, especially with my uneven voice delivery:) Also, I got taught sound in university, so I know after years of constant fidling, which audio levels are best for me xD Apologies if that's not the case for yourself:)

I had N64 and PS1 in that generation and I played my N64 a lot more, mainly because of multiplayer games like Smash Bros and Goldeneye.

Ah, you are lucky to have two consoles for the generation :) I only had the PS1 because it was the first console I interacted with & I didn't look back :) N64 was a better multiplayer system out of the box for sure :)

I worked in Beatties (some will know this shop!) when the N64 came out, but I wasn't into gaming as I am now. We did have a PS1 in the break room which you could not get me off of! I fell in love with that console over my lunch breaks so that's the one I bought and I'll never regret that decision. That said, about 20 years ago I picked up an N64 because everyone was saying how amazing it is. I've played it maybe half a dozen times. My main gripe is that stupid bloody controller! It's so uncomfortable, whomever came up with that clearly enjoyed torture! I recently looked it up and there is a company that make PS style controllers for it now, so I'm going to get one and give the console another chance because that really was the biggest issue for me. (Sorry!) The one game I have for it is Gex, so give that a go maybe? Probably better on PS1 though! I've got it on both so maybe I should compare some time? (Also, you don't have to explain yourself to anyone my friend, it's your life, your money, you decide what to do and when to do it, not people in the comments of YT! 😊)

Well, it is nice to know I'm not the only one who felt the controller was not a great one to use xD Ultimately, I never grew up with the console & it still has not interested me but this may change xD Oh definitely mate, but I still like to get my thoughts out there because no one thinks the same way & it is good to get a different perspective 😊

You should get one, play the 6 games everyone else played, and be disappointed there aren't more to your liking. That's the true N64 experience.

Considering how much they cost & the games in question now, I'd rather use emulation 😂 I'm sure there's more out there, especially if I looked at the Japanese market:)

And Nintendo hate the fact that they made cartridges so well that they are still working today😂. They can’t stop us playing old carts👍🏻.

Certainly, if there's one good thing about the N64 library, cartridges are holding up much better than the CD-ROM although I still prefer CD-ROM xD

I never played or grew up with it so that doesn't mean much 🤣🤣 I know it is highly rated on N64 but, not sure if I'd enjoy it today xD

@TheAffroShowGameplay it's been remastered on the xbox, but it's the godfather of all multiplayer games, probably dated now but still excellent 👌

@Surfegg1 I remember seeing this & sadly I don't own a current XBOX but if it is available on PC for a good price I might try it, or if nothing else, emulation first xD Even if it wouldn't provide the same experience without getting a N64 controller xD
