Dubias are only great for reptiles that can see. They're really not that great for tarantulas because of their annoying ability to play dead. I've since replaced my dubias with lobster roaches, red runners, and Discoid roaches. I used to keep American roaches as feeders. They too can work best as feeders, but they can climb and they stink a lot too. Lol! So I sold them all as well. Discoid roaches on the other hand do not play dead as much as Dubias. In fact, discoids will puff up trying to intimidate if any tarantula who touches them, very similar to lobster roaches reaction, which reveals their position prompting a predatory attack. Dubias will just straight out freeze depending on how long the T will remain in contact with the dubias bodies. Sometimes for hours if you let them. Yeah, Id stay away from Dubias if you're a T. keeper. The only time you can make a Dubia work as a feeder is if you can slightly crush their heads making them twitch or fidget which can also prompt an attack. I think that's the only way to make dubias work as feeders. Anything else, I say stay away from them, unless if you're a chameleon, bearded dragon, skink, gecko, or anole keeper.
