Last year he got 11/22 which isn't a bad record, especially as the team were struggling. The previous two he scored about 10 in Ligue 1. Even if he reverts back to last years numbers, that's still a good signing compared to Anthony, Sancho, Hojlund for example.

@felixwinkler6450

@@stephenm1846 Yeah, I'm not so sure about all that. Look at his career so far. This is his first decent season ever at 27 and he scored 14 goals in the first eight games - almost all of these were either at home or against a team in the relegation zone (only exception was a 1:5 loss against Leipzig) and his expected goals were only roughly eight in those eight games. Stuttgart had a very lucky start into the season and they're already starting to drop off. I'm not saying it's all pure luck - I had them finish in eighth before the season and that was a bold prediction, but they are doing a pretty good job. Nevertheless this is one of those freaky perfect storm season starts. And you're not buying a player for his past accomplishments, you buy someone to score goals in the future. He since then scored three times in nine games. Or in other words: 1.75 goals in the first eight games, then 0.33 goals in the past nine. Yes, he was injured in three of those games, that makes it 0.5 goals per game, but getting injured easily is not an argument for his value. Realistically he'll likely continue to score every second game from now on - in a team that seems to perfectly fit him. I'd see him score something around eight goals in an entire season at United. His value of supposedly 40 million is highly overrated. Maybe 17.5 is roughly fine. But I doubt anyone will get him on a cheap contract, meaning he'll likely cost more than a hundred million, all expenses considered. And a goal every other game in the Bundesliga isn't worth a hundred million in my opinion. My guess has been for a few weeks now that Chelsea will give him a seven-year contract paying 20 million a year plus 40 million signing fee - and then he'll barely play ten games in half a season before de facto retiring on the bench. I'm not saying that I'm not rooting for him. But if you ignore those eight freak games and look at the rest of his career, then you don't have someone who overall will likely cost his next employer something similar to what Haaland, Bellingham or Kane cost. But who knows? Maybe he'll surprise a lot of us. I'd be happy for him. I just don't see it.

Not belittling him. I'm just saying that he is not the clinical striker that people want him to be. Look at any game Stuttgart played this season: he should have scored at least 1 or 2 goals more from the chances he got. He works really well in this system, as it creates a lot of chances and he is very good in getting into these positions. But suggesting he would solve e.g. Arsenal's striker problem is a joke, since he's not that clinical.@@nabyoutube

What player doesn't miss chances ? Iv seen the best players in the world miss "easy chances" The guy has a 17 million release clause In a market that value Ivan toney at 80-100 million Teams like arsenal struggling to keep up with FFP after spending 70 million on kia Havertz who btw has 5 goals this season... I don't think the guy will "Solves arsenal striker situation garenteed" but Eddie isn't cutting it right now and with this guy showing he can score if he's provided chances Considering we could sell Eddie and buy this guy twice over with that money Arsenal should be pushing hard for this guy He could be exactly what arsenal need
