Correction/Retraction: At 2:42 I mistakenly said that by dialing you are raising the elevation of the reticle which is incorrect. What I meant is that you are effectively raising your point of aim which would be by lowering the reticle in the optic. Filming these clips it's very easy to made seemingly dumb mistakes.

I can't stressed enough the importance and necessity of having and properly using an Anti-Cant Bubble Level on every rifle, especially if you're doing any long range shooting.
It's simple. When the bullet leaves the barrel it's pull directly to the earth by gravity. To compensate for that drop a long range shooter needs to aim progressively higher and higher the further out his target is to compensate for that drop. Most long range shooters do this by adjusting the elevation turret of their rifle scope.
However, if your optic is tilted to one side or the other you're adjustments are no longer going directly against that pull of gravity and you're essentially aiming off to the side rather than directly above your target. This will cause far more misses than impact the more canted your optic is.
It's critical that your optic is always perfectly level when you make the shot to ensure you're point of aim is where it should be resulting in a clean impact verses a miss.
I hope this was helpful. Be sure to use the links above to get yourself a vortex lo-pro or standard bubble level for every rifle you have.
