Great video, man. In 2004 I found an LS 400 on a lot with 161K miles on it and I bought it for $4500. I drove that car to 400K miles on the original drivetrain and it was still butter smooth all the way up until the day I decided to let her go because, even though most years of ownership had a flat $0 in maintenance costs, little parts failing under the hood put the labor costs out of budget. Still, it was the best auto investment I ever made up until last year when I found my white LS 430 on a lot with 141K miles and an unimpeachable maintenance record. The previous owner was an absolute stickler for scheduled maintenance. I bought it for $8,400 cash and after a year of everyday use I can see why so many auto magazines, auto report groups, and enthusiasts were so high on this car. Just to get in and close the door, the world's noise volume falls to near zero. At 20 years old, it is still a remarkable engineering accomplishment that can go toe-to-toe with any luxury automobile rolling off the assembly line today.

I've had my bone stock onyx black 2004 ls430 sport suspension package model for little over a year now and love it with 173,263 miles on it currently purchased at 150,000. It has the 5 spoke chrome plated rims and just replaced my tires with Michelin pilot sport all season tires a few weeks ago. I paid $9,500 for it which I don't regret. I'm replacing the timing belt at 182,246 miles along with the rest of the major general maintenance that goes along with it when it comes time. I don't think it's an old mans car. I think people with a sense buy these and they're actually bad ass. This is my very first car and I'm 32 years old. How's it going.

Yes, do the timing belt!! and the motor will outlast you and your kids!! The car care nut bought one with 600K on it and he plans on running it to a million miles. It was a smokers car and he had the car strip down to metal interior on a full restoration and he is the best KZitem mechanic for Toyo in my opinion which drips over to Lexus!!! ;-) I just continued on in the video and he mention Car Care Nut lol and the Canadian boys who boosted his daily driver.... So this car has the Mark Levinson audio which is amazing.... I've researched it extensively and I currently have no car note!! guess its time!!

I am an old man 77 to be exact and I did buy one of these LS 430 2006 with 161,000 miles and I have had to do some work on it but overall I love this car. It is everything I wanted in a new car but could not get. I feel like they are overpriced for the year models but just try to find a decent one that you would like to own for less than $10,000.00. Good luck. I currently have just under $16,000.00 in mine after the repairs it needed. The timeing belt was changed at 153,000 miles so no worries there. The overall quality of this car is amazing.

Extremely quiet, smooth, and comfortable. Built like a tank but glides with serenity and aplomb. Drove it to Italy from the London. People were shocked and kept staring. The problem with the LS430 is that the secondary computer goes out and they're impossible to find. When it happened to mine a few years ago, there were only like 3 on the used market... anywhere in the US. And then the equipment to install it and set it correctly was so expensive that only the dealers have it. You'll spend almost as much as you spent on the car.

I bought a California since new (Santa Clarita area dealership) car from the original owner, who happens to be my friend. It was driven back and forth to the Hospital where the good doctor then drove home and parked it the garage for I think 23 years and 147,300 miles making me the second owner last year. It's 2005, LS430 in white with tan interior, Modern Luxury package. So its middle of the road as far as packages go. Clean car fax and paint and body, and interior are beautiful original condition. I have all the service books and service records, and first aid kit, and tool box! And yes, I have all three keys! One is a Valet key. My friend was offered $1000.00 dollars on it for his trade in for the new Audi A6! When he told me the story he said he brought home from the Audi dealer and now had it up on the internet for $6,500.00. And had no bites yet. So, I asked him if he would sell it to me? It's a beautiful car and one that I could not afford back in 2005 for over 65,000 thousand dollars I think the window sticker says! He responded to my text with some pictures and said sure, how does $2,500 sound! Yikes! I have put some new factory chrome Lexus 18 inch rims back on it replacing the somewhat curb rash original ones with the same. I would put those back on your car as well, Sir. The look so amazing! I'm a very big of factory original parts and keeping factory original look too! I did see that KZitem on the Black Lexus LS430 with the custom rims that you mentioned. Not my cup of tea. Here's a top tip for you sir, and ALL Lexus owners out there needing factory original warrantied parts. I buy them online from Lexusstevenscreek.com. Great pricing and free shipping I think on orders over $150.00 bucks. They super responsive! I loved the new material on the LS430 car sir, and I am now a Subscriber!

I picked up a clean 2004 with 152k miles on it. Such a solid and reliable vehichle. It is not just a Toyota with a Lexus badge. They went above and beyond with the R&D on this luxury vehicle and it shows 20 years later. Besides the bullet proof engine and transmission, there are so many other parts and finishes that are to much to list where they focused their best engineering, fit, and finish on building one of the best cars ever made. Even if some parts may be a little expensive, it is still worth paying for since the car can last soooo many miles. As far as the rims, I like the original ones. I'm constantly thinking that if at some point I want a hobby car, i would get pearl white LS430 and keep it (or restore it) to complete original. No big wheels, no lowering suspension. Just restore everything from paint to leather into perfect shape. I had a 2007 GS300 for 5 years, sold it this summer because I needed a bigger car. Now after driving different cars, I cant help but notice that Lexus did some things different. You would not notice those things at first but you will suddenly miss them once you move to another brand.

I wanted one of these back in 2008. I really wanted to do a VIP build on it. I wanted a 2003 and up model due to the face lift. Unfortunately they were still expensive so I ended up with 2001 Lexus GS300 at the time. I still have the GS300 all these years later and it's still running strong but I will always love the look and reliability of the 2003-2006 LS430. To be honest, I wouldn't even say that its a secret about these cars because a lot of people were building these and LS400s up about 8-10 years ago.

A real old man doesn't need to be cool! I'm mainly a Range Rover man, but still have fond memories of the LS400 I owned for four years. Still, I think my Range Rover is even quieter than the Lexus was. My ideal second car (if I could afford it) would be not an LS but an LC.

What makes the LS430 so good (and contender for "best luxury car") is this: The level of attention to detail Lexus gave the LS430 is unparalleled in the history of mass-produced luxury cars. Not just for its features / value-adds, but in its build quality, NVH levels, fit & finish, and outstanding long-term reliability. They really knocked it out of the park with the LS430. Its predecessors and (sadly) successors haven't reached the 430's arc.

The first and second generation LS 400s are the absolutely the best LSs. Toyota spent 1 billion dollars on the development of the first generation LS 400. The 430 is more luxurious and more technical and I think the styling is better, but it falls short in the reliability, ride quality, and is not as quiet as the 400. I had a 1990 and 1994 and now the 2006 LS 430. I prefer the 400s. Only wish I had purchased the 2000LS 400 rather than the 430.

They're very common here in the Emirates. Sadly a lot of them are modded (and the cheap kinds), but yeah. Reliable af, comfortable, can have 7 different owners and it still works. I would've had it too, sadly I like efficient cars. This is a bit of a fuel hog :(

Yeah it’s not the most efficient car especially if you drive it hard, but it’s surprising how efficient it is for a 20 year old V8!
