@@StryderFi I don't watch any for of racing, especially F1, so very nice guesswork there. I hate how every single modern sportscar gets "tEstED At tHe nUrNbuRgRiNg fOR UltImAte pErfOrManCE beNChMarkInG". James May said in a segment about some Opel that that whole process ruins the actual cars. Sure they might go a tiny bit quicker around that specific track (which doesn't mean they'll be quicker around any other one) but at the cost of ruining the car's real world usability. The place where you can make up the most time is the back straight, so it makes sense to have longer final drive ratio. A longer last gear has to makr every other gear be longer, and long gears ruin the joy in everyday driving. Case in point, the CT5-V's manual. For a car that's obviously meant to be a fun daily driver, first gear revs out to 62 mph. Good for the also fake 0-60 test, and last gear is also long af, so it's fast around the Ring, but you don't get to rev it out twice before doing illegal speeds on 99% of the planet. BMW is also very guilty of this, the E46 M3 is (for the price, it ain't no McLaren F1) one of the best drivers cars you can get, and even the CSL was SMG only for laptimes, and that's not even mentioning all their recent cars. New M3/M4/M5 feels totally soulless to drive, but they're quick around the Ring so it's all good, right? 991.2 GT2RS held the record for how long and it's the same thing. Too stiff to enjoy, gears are too long, and it doesn't even have a manual option. Ring testing ruined modern cars. That's why I hate it. Not because I like other tracks more, because I don't like any track.

All car companyes test their cars on a track during the alpha stage , after that the company can aply to get a licence to test the cars in traffic from that region , this cars will have prototipe license plate and is driven by testing pilots around the city , but most of the tests are made at night because the car should repain secret , and also the test tracks have all tipes of read included and all conditions a car could meet on a real road . How ever not all cars that are in betta testing are allowed on highway , for example If there is testing a completly new car is allowed only on some streets But the company can also test futures like , self driving option and so on, so they mount this futures on normal cars and get the protorype licence plate and aply for acces on higways and other reaods (since the car is a normal type of car that is in the market the car will be aproved because it had proven to be safe enought on highways)
